⬆️SPINAL ALIGNMENT

❓Why is it necessary to put the bones of your spine back in alignment? When you activate the muscles of your body to produce any kind of movement you use your spine. Vertebrae move by twisting and turning in many directions giving your body the ability to maneuver in all the various ways that we call movement. Normal daily activities such as sitting, standing, bending, walking, running and twisting place strain on the tissues of the spine and, over time, allow the vertebral segments to move out of their proper alignment.

😣When vertebrae become misaligned it creates pulling on the muscles and ligaments which attach to spinal vertebrae restricting normal movement. This restriction causes nerves to become irritated and inflamed. Once nerves are inflamed, they produce spasm in muscle tissue setting up a repetitive cycle for abnormal movement and pain.

🤓Mouth taping consists of using tape to keep the lips together during sleep. The idea is to breathe through your nose, instead of your mouth. The main reason for doing this is to allow your nose to filter the air before allowing it to enter your body! Mouth breathing can also lead to dry mouth, bad breath, cavities, and abnormalities in the jaw, tooth, and facial structure.

🕐Set reminders throughout the day to breathe through your mouth! The purpose of mouth taping is to help form better habits for breathing during the night, but during the day, make it a conscious decision to breath through your nose! Practice makes perfect!

🔎Tight hips can affect anyone, from people who spend several hours a day sitting to regular gym-goers and professional athletes. what is the popping noise during an adjustment?

🤓When the chiropractic adjustment takes place, it releases the pressure of gases inside the joint capsules and you hear an audible pop. The Popping is a combination of the facet joints realigning into their normal position and gas being released from the joints in the spine.

🔑One key thing to remember is that even though you don't hear a popping noise, it doesn't mean that the adjustment was not successful! Your joints can still move, and that's what we feel for when performing the adjustment.

🤓It’s essential for strong bones and muscles, and keeps your immune system healthy. It helps your body absorb calcium and phosphorus, which are essential for bone health. It also modulates your body’s inflammatory response. Low levels of vitamin D have been linked to high blood pressure. So getting your recommended daily dose can help lower it, according to some research. This, in turn lowers the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

☀️Children and teenagers: 600 international units (IU) or 15 micrograms (mcg).
☀️Adults up to the age of 70 years old: 600 IU or 15 mcg.
☀️Adults aged 71 years old and over: 800 IU or 20 mcg.
☀️During pregnancy and breastfeeding: 600 IU or 15 mcg.
