Changing Minds
Metrocare is changing minds! We are the largest provider of mental health services in North Texas, serving more than 62,000 adults and children annually. For over 50 years, Metrocare has provided a broad array of services to people with mental health challenges and developmental disabilities. In addition to behavioral health care, Metrocare provides primary care centers for adults and children, services for veterans and their families, accessible pharmacies, housing and supportive social services. Alongside the clinical care, researchers and teachers from Metrocare’s Altshuler Center for Education & Research are advancing mental health beyond Dallas County while providing critical workforce to the state.

"Metrocare offers Mental Health Support
Line for Area Residents" Read about it in I Messenger:
Texas Metro News features Metrocare's article "Metrocare offers Mental Health Support Line for Area Residents." Read it on page 8:
This place is a joke. The employees are lazy, corrupt, and unprofessional. They have an excuse for EVERYTHING. To top it off, they have a program that pays boarding home owners $600 per month for a mentally ill person to SHARE A ROOM with other mentally ill persons. This has created a predatory system where homeowners are able to make exorbitant profits off of people that are mentally disabled. But here is the kicker: some of the people employed by Metrocare are exploiting this program and benefiting from it by housing mentally ill persons in homes owned or leased by them.
Lower the price people have to pay for housing by lowering the pay out of your housing vouchers.
Stop employee corruption by holding them accountable for their mistakes and not allowing them to exploit programs that are in place for clients.
If you set an appointment, and the client is on time, Metrocare should be on time too.
Just because these people are mentally ill doesn't mean they should get inferior treatment and that is EXACTLY what Metrocare offers.

Metrocare Services hosted a successful 33rd Annual Texas Council of Community Centers Conference in Dallas this past week. There were a lot of great panels and guest speakers over the course of 3 days to provide guidance, insight, and forecasting ahead to an audience of trustees, care providers, consumers, and behavioral health stakeholders.
