Dr Fred Rubel created the fist Chiropractic college that allowes African American students admission, Rubel College of Chiropractic in Alabama(1914) and Chicago (1921). Dr Rubel founded this institution on the grounds "... to open the field of instruction to all races, no matter what the color of their skin may be, so as particularly to give members of the colored race an opportunity to learn one of the greatest modern professions—Chiropractic.” Rubel College of Chiropractic Catalog 1922-1923

Harvey Lillard, an Iowa janitor in 1895, was the first Chiropractic patient. He was suffered substantial hearing deficit due to a back injury. After two adjusting sessions with D.D. Palmer, his hearing returned.
I was deaf 17 years and I expected to always remain so, for I had doctored a great deal without any benefit. I had long ago made up my mind to not take any more ear treatments, for it did me no good. Last January Dr. Palmer told me that my deafness came from an injury in my spine. This was new to me; but it is a fact that my back was injured at the time I went deaf. Dr. Palmer treated me on the spine; in two treatments I could hear quite well. That was eight months ago. My hearing remains good.

Transformation is the word of the year for me in 2021. To transform is to make a thorough or dramatic change. We often consider physical changes to our bodies and appearance as the major idea of transformation. But, I want to remind you that external transformation always begins with internal transformation. Maintaining proper spinal health is one of best ways to achieve overall health! 2020 has transitioned many from works offices to creating work offices. Working from home has it's benefits but also can be taxing on the body for multiple reasons. Creating an ergonomically efficient workspace, taking exercise/stretch breaks and minding your posture are essential to maintainence of your spinal and overall health.
