No Name-Calling Week is an opportunity to notice how words can harm — including the ones we say to ourselves. Repeated labeling over time can negatively affect confidence, self-worth, and identity development.

Try this:
🗣️ Shift self-talk from “I’m stupid” to “I’m struggling right now”
🗣️ Name the feeling or experience, not the person: “That hurt”
🗣️ Model respectful, compassionate language at home, at school, and at work

If critical self-talk or experiences of bullying have had lasting effects, working with a mental health professional can support healing and help restore a sense of safety and self-trust. Call us at (817)350-4377 or visit https://buff.ly/2VtjXl6

Sleep and mental health are closely connected. When sleep is disrupted, anxiety and low mood can feel more intense, and the cycle can be difficult to interrupt.

Gentle sleep supports:
🌙 Keep a consistent wake-up time, even on weekends
🌙 Limit caffeine after midday
🌙 Try a brief “brain dump” before bed to ease racing thoughts

If sleep difficulties persist, working with a mental health professional can help you understand what’s getting in the way and develop sustainable, compassionate strategies that fit your life.

National Mentoring Month highlights the power of safe, supportive relationships. Mentors don’t need perfect answers — they offer steadiness, encouragement, and perspective.

If you're mentoring someone:
🌟 Listen more than you “fix”
🌟 Be consistent (small check-ins matter)
🌟 Celebrate effort, not just outcomes

If you didn’t experience that kind of support growing up, you’re not alone. Working with a mental health professional can help you explore those gaps, develop healthier relationship patterns, and build self-trust over time.

January is Mental Wellness Month — a reminder that mental health can be supported through small, consistent practices. 💙. 💙

This month, try:
🌿 Checking in with yourself daily: “What do I need today?”
🌿 Choosing one steady habit to support your wellbeing (sleep, movement, meals, or sunlight)
🌿 Limiting doom-scrolling and adding one calming activity instead

If stress, mood, or anxiety feels hard to manage, professional support can help you build tools that truly fit your life.

On International Mind-Body Wellness Day, remember: your body often signals stress before your mind catches up giving cues such as tight shoulders, headaches, stomach upset, and a racing heart.

Helpful resets:
🌬️ Take 3 slow breaths, emphasizing a longer exhale
🚶 Try a 10-minute walk or gentle stretching
🧊 Grounding exercise: name 5 things you can see, 4 you can touch, 3 you can hear

If ongoing stress is affecting your body, a licensed mental health professional can help identify underlying triggers and support healthier nervous system regulation. Call us at (817)350-4377 or visit https://buff.ly/2VtjXl6

Hello 2026. 🎉
If you're setting goals, consider making them mental-health friendly: realistic, flexible, and kind.

A simple approach:
✅ Choose one small habit (not five)
✅ Focus on “progress,” not perfection
✅ Build recovery time into your week (rest is productive)

We are here to support you on your mental wellness journey. Call us at (817)350-4377 or visit https://buff.ly/2VtjXl6

To everyone who celebrates, we wish you a peaceful and gentle Christmas. 🎄

This season can be joyful for some and painful or complicated for others, all of those experiences are valid.

As you move through the holiday, remember to:
🎄 Take quiet breaks when you need them
🎄 Reach out if you’re feeling lonely or overwhelmed
🎄 Lower perfectionist expectations for yourself and others

From all of us here, happy holidays!

The holidays can bring joy, but they can also trigger anxiety. This might show up as racing thoughts, tight shoulders, trouble sleeping, or a sense of dread before events. You’re not “overreacting”—your nervous system is responding to stress.

Some ways to cope include:
💙 Slow your breathing: Inhale gently through your nose for 4 counts, hold for 2, and exhale through your mouth for 6 counts. Repeat a few times, focusing on your breath.
💙 Ground yourself through your senses: Try the 5-4-3-2-1 technique—notice 5 things you see, 4 you can touch, 3 you hear, 2 you smell, and 1 you taste.
💙Setting realistic expectations for what you can do
💙 Schedule downtime between events

If anxiety is interfering with your daily life, consider professional help. We can work with you to create a personalized treatment plan for managing stress during the holiday season and beyond.

Shorter days and colder weather can contribute to seasonal depression, making motivation hard to find. Gentle movement, even in small amounts, can support mood and energy levels.

You might try:
❄️ A short walk outdoors during daylight, if possible
❄️ Stretching or light movement inside on low-energy days
❄️ Pairing movement with music or a podcast you enjoy

If your mood stays low, you feel hopeless, or daily tasks feel overwhelming, a mental health professional can help explore treatment options.

The holiday season often brings a mix of invitations, expectations, and emotions. Remember—setting boundaries isn’t selfish. It’s an essential part of protecting your mental and emotional well-being.

Here are some ways to set boundaries while protecting your energy and mental health:
🌟 “Thank you for inviting me, but I won’t be able to make it this year.”
🌟 Limiting your time at gatherings that feel draining
🌟 Stepping away from conversations that feel unsafe or hurtful

If you find it difficult to hold boundaries, professional support can help you practice saying “no” confidently while still honoring your values and maintaining healthy relationships.

The holiday season can be a joyful time, but it can also bring unique challenges for people in recovery. Increased alcohol at gatherings and parties can make staying sober feel especially difficult. Prioritizing sobriety is a meaningful and courageous committment, and you don't have to navigate it alone.

Here are some strategies that may help during this time of year:
💚 Plan ahead - Consider an exit strategy or a supportive companion for events
💚 Bringing your own non-alcoholic option - Having something in hand can reduce pressure and help you stay comfortable
💚 Reach for extra support - Attending additional support meetings, or check-ins can strengthen your sobriety journey

If you’re experiencing cravings, or have had a slip, reaching out early can make a difference. We are here to support you through the season and beyond.
