So much fun at the School Is Cool event in Tyler, where our team connected with the community and shared helpful information about our services. Teens are turning to TikTok for tanning tips and it’s putting their skin at serious risk. Board-Certified Dermatologist Dr. Howard Rubin of U.S. Dermatology Partners North Dallas recently spoke with WFAA to shed light on this concerning social media trend where teens use high UV index levels to time their tanning. While it may seem harmless, this behavior can lead to early skin damage, premature aging, and an increased risk of skin cancer.

☀️ As summer heats up and more teens spend time outdoors, it’s critical to understand that a tan is a sign of skin damage. Practicing sun safety, including daily sunscreen, is essential for long-term skin health.
