Some things are hard to say out loud. Especially in our communities. Especially in our churches.

Join us for a Heart-to-Healing Fireside Chat with Lillian Park — licensed counselor, trauma therapist, and fellow Korean — as she unpacks the work and opportunity to reclaim your story after sexual trauma.

No recording. No notes. Just honest conversation and space to ask what you've been holding.

📢 New Publication from Mustard Seed Generation

We’re grateful to share that two research papers developed in collaboration with Mustard Seed Generation have been published—and are now available as open access.

Korean Americans experience some of the highest rates of depression among Asian American communities, yet many do not access mental health care due to stigma, language barriers, and limited culturally responsive resources.

At the same time, over two-thirds of Korean Americans identify as Christian, making the church a central place of support. Many church leaders serve as informal mental health gatekeepers—often without the training or tools needed to respond effectively.

These two studies explore both the need and the opportunity:

1️⃣ Virtual Mental Health Training for Church Leaders
We found significant increases in knowledge, confidence, and readiness to take action after a 7-week training.

2️⃣ Church Leaders as Mental Health Gatekeepers
Training, stigma awareness, and ministry context all play a key role in how leaders support and refer individuals.

✨ Together, these findings highlight an important truth:
Equipping church leaders can help bridge the mental health gap in Korean American communities.

At MSG, we remain committed to educating, equipping, and connecting our communities to culturally and spiritually responsive mental health support.
