🚌 School is officially starting and in the past few weeks Watermark Health hosted 5 School Physical Days and served 183 students! These school physicals allow students to participate in healthy and productive extra-curricular activities, and identify any health concerns and follow up needed early on. A big thank you to the team members who served and donors who provided give-aways for students!   Join us in praying for those 183 students to have an awesome year where they grow closer to Jesus!

"During my years of medical practice I had served at Watermark Health as a provider, and was richly blessed by the experience. After my retirement from practice and no longer continuing my Physician's license, Watermark Health was gracious enough to allow me to serve in the tech role which has been a great experience for me in my retirement. I have grown in my willingness and ability to share the gospel with others and to pray with others with the encouragement of the staff and other volunteers. It has been so fun to be connected with this group of people who are serving the spiritual needs as well as the physical needs of people in our community who need it the most. I have truly been blessed by serving at Watermark Health." - Dr. Paul Muncy 🩺

Welcome to Watermark Health, how may we serve you? ❤️‍🩹🩺

Watermark Health is an independently funded non-profit that aims to see both spiritual and physical healing come to the multitudes. While partnering closely with local churches for discipleship, we oversee two urgent care clinics, early prenatal care and dental services and at the heart of each patient visit we focus on sharing the gospel and providing spiritual and pastoral support. We get to see all kinds of life change happen within our ministry; including amongst our volunteers and staff as they grow in sharing their faith!

Our launch partners Watermark Community Church and Questcare Medical Services provide contributions and gift in kind resources to facilitate the ministry but the majority of annual operating costs are provided for by donors that are passionate about the mission. This effort is truly a collaboration of God’s people serving the most vulnerable in our city.

Join us in redeeming healthcare, one person at a time!🙌

📈 Ministry Impact Update
April through June reminded us of the importance of keeping our services as accessible as possible. Because we have no patient restrictions due to ID, zip code, income level, or insurance we're able to make not only healthcare accessible to under-served communities but also the Gospel. Scroll to see some of the stats about our patient population and the impact of what God is doing here! 🙌

At the end of June, a team of Watermark Health volunteers traveled to the Rio Grand Valley with to serve low income communities along the Texas-Mexico border that are lacking basic services such as potable water, adequate sewage systems, drainage, utilities, and paved roads. These communities are often described as having living conditions comparable to developing nations.

"Our team was inspired by the people serving there, who were very thankful to be in that community and had a joyful spirit about the work God had for them. The trip grew our humility and compassion for our patients. It also reminded me to be grateful for where God has me planted and serving."
- Suzanne S, Watermark Health Nurse Volunteer

Today, on Juneteenth, we honor the significance of this day in our nation’s history—the end of slavery and the continued pursuit of freedom, justice, and dignity for all people.
At Watermark Health, we’re honored to serve patients from many different racial, cultural, and economic backgrounds. Many of our African American patients report having faced difficulty accessing the US healthcare system due to systemic injustices and distrust which can result in detrimental health outcomes. For example, in South Dallas, a historically African American community where our Mobile Clinic is deployed, the average life expectancy is 20 years shorter than other predominately white neighborhoods in North Dallas.

Our ministry not only shares the love and freedom of Christ, but actively works towards fighting for justice by bringing access to trustworthy and compassionate medical care in communities that have historically gone without.

As we reflect on the meaning of Juneteenth, we asked one of our patients who has visited our mobile clinic what the holiday means to them.

“I think it is a reminder of long-time coming freedom, and the resiliency of a people held in bo***ge for years. I think it is important to remember that people died and fought for them to have the freedom they have now. I don’t think people realize how important it is to still fight for justice and equality for all.” - WMH South Dallas Patient

Happy Juneteenth!

“Serving at Watermark Health care has been a beautiful reminder of why I joined the fire service; to be the hands and feet of Jesus in a broken world. In my daily work environment it’s so easy to forget; but at Watermark Health the focus is Jesus. Watching the love and selflessness of the staff and volunteers and experiencing the gratitude and stories from our patients has helped humble me, deepen my faith, and inspire me to more boldly bring my faith into the sometimes dark world of the fire service.”

We’re so thankful for volunteers like Christina who lead with compassion, humility, and courage. If you’re looking for a place to serve and grow, we’d love to have you join us. 🙌

Every week, our team heads to to provide medical care for our unhoused neighbors—people who are often overlooked, yet deeply known and loved by God. It’s more than just treating symptoms; it’s about building trust, listening well, and offering the hope of Jesus through every interaction.

One of our providers recently shared about a powerful moment with a patient at OurCalling:
“At OC on 9/19/24 a gentleman came to see us for evaluation of a wound on his foot that he had for a while and had to cut out a hole in his shoe so that it would not rub on it. He came after trying to get on the shower schedule so that he could wash his feet first so it would be cleaner when we examined it. After our charge nurse, Suzy, assured him that he was welcome as he is and after our Clinic Director Anthony got him lunch so he could be seen in clinic and not miss out on lunch he sat down with us for over 1.5 hours! He shared his life story and his walk with Jesus and we had the opportunity to encourage him that despite his feeling distant from God, God is with him and nothing can separate him from the love of God, because he is in Christ Jesus. This patient was so grateful to us for actually talking to him about his faith and listening to what the Lord had been laying on his heart.”

This is the kind of care we’re all about—meeting physical needs, sharing the hope of Jesus, and reminding people they’re never forgotten. 🤍

“God teaches me more about Himself every time I serve at Watermark Urgent Care. This experience reinforced in me His attribute of absolute sovereignty; He superintends over all His creation, every occurrence, every transaction, every minute of every day.” – Arnie Knecht, Pastoral Care Volunteer

✍️ God is writing amazing stories in our patient rooms every day, including one that recently reminded Arnie of God’s sovereignty. Check out Arnie’s learnings from this story

Did you know that incarcerated communities often experience healthcare disparities?
Studies have shown that when compared to the general population, the incarcerated are more likely to have high blood pressure, asthma, cancer, arthritis, and infectious disease.

Recently, our staff team had the humbling privilege of joining friends from Grace Place Ministries to visit the faith-based dorm at the Sanders Estes Unit, a Prison located in Venus, TX. 🕊️

During our time with the men, we heard stories of lack of access to necessary healthcare, had the chance to pray with them, and heard the rawness of their faith — with hearts that yearn deeply for heaven.

This visit reminded us why we do what we do and was a chance to more clearly hear from our patient population on ways we can better serve them. We also were witness to the kindness and compassion of Christ in such difficult spaces. (Matthew 25:31-46)

We’re walking away deeply moved, grateful, and more committed than ever to ministering through healthcare with compassion and truth.

Our Story

What happens when the church meets the city’s needs? We’re here to find out.

We are the local church. We are nurses, doctors, college students, dentists, stay at home moms, and retirees. We are men and women who believe our God wants to do something big in our city and each day we ask Him to use us. As we open the doors to our clinics every morning, we see Him work miracles in our midst.

In 2013 we opened our first clinic and a short five years later we were seeing over 10,000 patient visits each year. In 2018 we opened our second facility, and now...now we’re trusting the Lord with whatever is next.

We’re Watermark Health. How can we serve you?
