Watermark Health

Watermark Health We are an independently funded non-profit that aims to see both spiritual and physical healing come to the multitudes.

At the heart of each patient visit in any of our clinics, we focus on sharing the gospel and providing spiritual and pastoral support.

✝️ “Being in this space has given me more boldness and practice sharing the gospel. I'm used to finding ways to have conversations with people I've known for a while. But serving at Watermark Health has helped me initiate more with people that I don’t know, that I’m just meeting. Getting to practice here over and over has made me more confident.” - Sarah M, WMH Volunteer RN

Site visits, trusted partners, alignment meetings, recruiting talented leadership to make it happen, construction and compliance walk throughs, lots of prayer....and checking out each other’s favorite restaurants. A lot of good can happen over a shared meal!

Dr. Aaron Adamson, DO first heard about Watermark Health through his wife Kensey. They had been members at Watermark’s then Fort Worth Campus (now an independent church), and learned about a Watermark Health clinic in Dallas that was serving the uninsured and underinsured. Even though it meant about an hour commute, Aaron decided to give serving there a try.

Serving at Watermark Health began to open Aaron’s eyes to the possibilities of what can happen when the church chooses to meet its city’s needs. And God began to grow a desire in his heart for a similar type of outreach in Fort Worth.

We tried to ask our nurses for an inspiring quote about nursing but they were too busy serving others. So we settled for the administrative staff bragging on them instead. 🥰

Happy Nurses Week! We couldn’t be who we are without the amazing nurses that make this place run. Thank you for being you! 🥳

Recently a patient was asked where she thought her soul would go if she were to die today. The patient shared that she prays for mercy but thinks if she died she'd be stuck between heaven or hell. Our staff team shared their testimonies of Jesus' love and confidence of their salvation through verses like John 5:24 and Romans 10:9-10. After talking about who Jesus is and what He's done for us, she shared that she would like that same confidence and relationship with Him and that she wanted to pray to receive Christ. She did so that day! After celebrating her new life in Christ, she left with a bible, devotional, and ministry referral in hand. A lot can happen during a visit to the clinic!

Who might the Lord put in front of you that needs to be asked a question like that today?

📖 Story time

During a blood draw I asked a patient about her faith, and she told me she had walked away from Christianity because she was mad at God as her mother had died in the previous year. She explained that her mom was a follower of Christ and the one that kept her grounded in church and prayed with her. I told her that God understood what she was going through and He knew everything that she was feeling. I asked her what kept her from going to Christ now in her need. She said she was not in a good place, plus she wasn't going to church. I told her God cares more about her heart and not just simply going through the motions.

She asked questions about heaven and we talked about how there would no longer be suffering or pain or tears. I asked if she wanted to be assured of being in glory with God. She cried and said yes. Then I asked if she wanted to pray to submit her life to Jesus and she said yes. So we prayed and she cried some more and prayed after me.

God can use anything, including a blood draw during a doctor's visit, to meet people in their grief and draw them to Him. Praise Him for working in this way! 🙌
