Kim has such a special place in my heart and her story is truly inspiring.
I told her long ago she was our poster child! Now here we are approaching the year mark and she is absolutely thriving!
Kim, I am grateful to you (and Ben!) for your trust in me and allowing me to be a part of your life. It is truly a blessing!
Everyone, this is Kim and this is her story ❤️…
“When I walked into OptimLife in May of 2025, I was in the worst physical shape I’ve ever been in. My mental state wasn’t much better.
My husband had been seeing Jessica and encouraged me to talk to her. I was reluctant because I had already done the get meds lose weight, go off meds, gain it all and then some back. I was struggling.
I’m a full time working mom of 3. I spend 90 min. a day commuting to and from my job. I’m usually gone 12+ hours a day.
My husband and I continued to talk about me going to see Jessica. I knew I needed to do something. My weight was an issue but I strongly felt there was more wrong/other issues. No one would listen. The other health professionals I’d seen chalked it all up to my weight. If I’d just lose some pounds I’d be fine.
One night I was checking out the OptimLife website. I decided to make an appointment. The perk of doing this online is I could do it later in the evening after all the kids had gone to bed. I didn’t have to talk to anyone, I didn’t want to talk about the appointment, just make it. This also felt like there was no pressure.
I kept my appointment. When I walked in the first time, I immediately noticed a difference. Mandy greeted me with a smile and was so kind and friendly.
I was pleasantly surprised by the whole vibe. It didn’t feel like a doctor’s office. It’s personable and welcoming.
When Jessica came in to the patient room, I immediately felt comfortable. She was like talking to an old friend. She listened, she heard what I said. She cared. We talked about my weight. I remember telling her I knew I was overweight, but I knew lots of people who were bigger than me but getting along much better.
We talked about my goals. We laughed and I cried as we talked about how I was feeling. I knew I needed help. And I finally felt like someone was going to help!
Jessica and I talked about shots and starting those. BUT Jessica also wanted to do bloodwork. She wanted baseline for everything so we could see what else could be off.
We talked about a meal plan, asking what foods I liked. Jessica told me she was going to create a meal plan for me. I was excited about that. She was teaching me how to eat.
Within that first visit, she was teaching me how to change my lifestyle and relationship with food. I appreciated that because that meant I wasn’t only making changes to lose weight but I was making changes to better my quality of life.
Within a day or two I had the meal plan AND a workout plan (that was quick and easy to do at home) in my inbox.
My 2nd visit to Jessica, we were both very pleased that I had lost weight and was doing great with my meal plan.
I was shocked when Jessica handed me a several page report from my bloodwork. She reviewed every result. If I had questions, she paused and answered them. This is just one of the things I love about seeing Jessica, she takes time. She wants her patients to understand. By the end of the appointment I had a plan of supplements to take and changes to some medications.
This May will be a year of seeing Jessica. I have been in her office every 4 weeks for almost a year. Jessica has continued to monitor my bloodwork every 3-4 months, making adjustments as needed. I weigh in and scan.
Some months have had better results than others. Jessica has been there to celebrate success and keep positive when the successes aren’t what I would call great.
I am so thankful that my husband encouraged me to see Jessica! I am close to my weight goals and I have never felt better! This is not only due to weight loss but also the vitamins and medication changes.
Even when the scale doesn’t show what I hope/want, Jessica focuses on the positive from the scans. It’s been so great to be able to work with someone in the healthcare profession that truly cares about her patients and does whatever needed to help them be the best and feel the best they can!”
