There is something wrong with your phones. They disconnect callers.
Feliz Cumpleaños Dr McElya🥳🥳🎁🎉🎈🎈🎊

I have been a patient for over a year and been trying to reach the billing department to no avail for over 3 MONTHS!! I am a cash pay patient and have receipts for my recent visit (as does your office) which for some reason, you've decided to send to a collections agency as well as report to the Credit Collections Agencies. It has since hurt my credit significantly.
Since receiving the initial collections bill, I have contacted your office and spoken with both Megan and Erika and 4 separate occasions attempting to get this matter corrected, each time being told that this situation was being "taken care of", and each time it never was. I continue to get debt collection letters and calls. Most recently, on 8/26/2020 I spoke with Erica and was placed on hold for over an hour, waiting for Jennifer in billing to come to the phone ( I was told she was on the other line and would be right with me). After 1 hour and 9 minutes, Erica finally conceded that Jennifer was actually in a meeting and would have to call me back. I have yet to receive that call back...
It is absolutely unacceptable to treat patients this way, nor is it legal to charge a patient and then send the patients file out for collections when they have paid you already and you are aware that they have!!
The most appalling part of all of this, is that your billing department is IN HOUSE. They sit right next to the reception in the same open desk area. Not some out of state office that you're waiting on to get back to you. This needs to be fixed, now please.
And since every time I've called, NMC has repeatedly told me that they don't need the account number or any other info I’ve attempted to provide them with in regards to the collection account, because it’s been stated that they “already have it all", I'm certain this should be an easy fix.
Is this social distancing?
How do regular patients make appointments?? All voicemails are full, no one is answers when calling to make appointments. I can not get a returned email either. I need to be seen for emails and am not sure how to get through to make appointment. Zocdoc continues to kick back and cancel ALL booked appt bookings. Please help. Thanks in advance!
I made an appointment online for a well woman's exam to refill my BC. I called before I got here to confirm my well women's exam, they said to call when I arrived and someone would call me in the office. THEN, 10 minutes before my appointment they said they aren't doing exams and would give me 3 mos prescription for BC, when I added I needed a yeast infection pill, that's when they say they'll see me for the exam. I brought cash, no where on the site or when I called did they say they're not taking cash, so I had to use a CC. Its now 11:04am, 30minutes after my appointment time and Im still waiting in my car to get called. I totally understand that the clinic is busy doing drive up COVID-19 testing, but what was the point of me making an appointment to sit in the parking lot? AND got charged $96 for an annual exam that is free with my insurance! Communication is key, and this clinic lacks that.
Any idea when we'll hear about covid test results from 3/31/20?

Incredible staff, quick and love going in.
Hi there everyone both of, and to be of Dr. McElya's Neighborhood Medical Center on Beltline and Preston, Dallas.

I want to share my very positive experience I had yesterday at this center. The long story in a few lines is that I needed my prescriptions refilled. CVS called the Dr.'s office for permission to do so. Instead, the clinic communicated that I needed to come in for a check up first.

I called back to announce that I was on my way hoping against hope that they would agree to an abrupt appointment. What happened is that they went above and beyond as they attended to me. Trust me, I have had many consultations over the years and I know when it is a special experience.

This is the best part. I showed up, was welcomed and asked to sit in the waiting room where I was soon called in. P A - Tobias didn't rush me through. He went over the essentials of my medical history, checked, and shared his thoughts, and discussed suggestions in a manner so thorough that by the time he was done I felt good about it all. I told myself that this is how I would like to feel every time I leave a doctor's office, no matter the diagnoses.

I got my prescription and left with a broad smile on my face.

Thank you Neighborhood Medical Center on Beltline and Preston, Dallas.

Spring is HERE!

Feeling a "pop" when you move your ankle?
Tenderness on the outside of your ankle?
A feeling of instability?
Pain or soreness?
Swelling? Bruising? Difficulty walking or running?

These could all be symptoms of Peroneal Tendonitis and Subluxation.

Peroneal tendonitis is inflammation in the tendons that run along your outer ankle bone and the side of your foot. These tough bands of tissue connect the muscles in your lower leg to the bones in your foot. They help stabilize and balance your foot and ankle, protecting them from injuries.

This type of foot tendonitis is usually the result of overuse, but it can also happen suddenly if you fall or injure your foot.

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms contact our office today at 972-726-6464 to be seen by Dr. Pajouh

Bunion pain? Here's a short summary from Dr. Pajouh about bunions.

What is a Bunion?

Bunions are often described as a bump on the inside of the big toe, however there is much more to a bunion. The bump is actually a change in the boney position of the foot where the big toe leans more towards the second toe instead of pointing straight.

Symptoms can include:
Pain and burning with tight fitting shoes
Inflammation and redness
Decreased range of motion of the big toe joint

Minimally invasive bunion surgery might be an option for your bunion deformity and help resolve pain. This procedure is done through much smaller incisions than traditional bunion surgery.
Typically less sutures are used than traditional bunion surgery and patients have much smaller incision scars. Dr. Pajouh will discuss with you if Minimally invasive bunion surgery is a good option for you. Dr. Pajouh was trained in Minimally invasive surgery by the top Podiatric and Orthopedic Surgeons in Texas. Make an appointment today with Dr. Jonathan Pajouh to further discuss treatment options and which treatment option best fits you.

To all of our runners out there!

Common Runners’ Injury: Stress Fractures of the Foot
Repetitive impact on feet can increase risk of damage

Stress fractures of the foot are becoming more common in runners, especially first-time marathoners, according to Dallas, Texas foot and ankle surgeon Dr. Jonathan Pajouh, DPM, AACFAS, DABPM

The growing popularity of marathons among beginning runners has contributed to the increase in repetitive stress injuries, including stress fractures of the foot, seen by Dr. Pajouh, a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Often, first-time marathoners enter a race with little or improper long-distance training. The lack of experience coupled with the repetitive impact placed on the feet during the run can produce enough stress to cause hairline breaks in the bones of the foot.

“Runners who increase their mileage too quickly or change to a more intense phase of training may be more susceptible to a stress fracture due to the increased force placed on the bones,” says Dr. Pajouh. “A general rule of thumb for runners is to increase the mileage by no more than 10 percent each week. Runners who are training also need to have adequate rest time in between runs to help decrease the risk of a fracture.”

Runners at all levels of experience are also at higher risk for stress fractures if they wear improper shoes while running or training, suffer from flatfoot or other foot deformities, or have osteoporosis. Signs of a stress fracture can include pain, swelling, redness and possibly bruising of the area.

- more -

“Stress fractures can occur anywhere in the foot and can eventually lead to a complete break of the bone if left untreated,” Dr. Pajouh explained. “Early diagnosis and treatment are important to ensure proper healing.”

If a break is suspected, Dr. Pajouh advises runners to immediately follow the RICE protocol—Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation. If pain and swelling last longer than a few days, an appointment for an x-ray and diagnosis is in order.

In most cases, treatment includes rest and immobilization with casting of the foot. Surgery may be required in certain instances to repair and stabilize a stress fracture that has progressed into a full fracture.

Runners can take action to prevent repetitive stress injuries in their feet by wearing supportive athletic shoes and slowly building up their activity levels according to their abilities. “If a runner suffers from abnormal mechanics in the foot, such as over pronation or hypermobility, custom orthotics can also be helpful to prevent these injuries,” Dr. Pajouh, adds.

If you suspect you have a foot injury or fracture, call Dr. Pajouh’s office at 972-726-6464 for an evaluation.
