We are a Camp Mystic family: my Mom, my two sisters and I all shared the Mystic experience, and my sisters were lifers. This was a safe place, a place of sacred, lifelong friendships and a camp that fostered teamwork, independence, healthy competition and so much fun. I’m heartbroken for all the parents, campers, counselors, and staff as they grieve the tragic losses and try to make sense of the terrifying events.
I’m heartbroken watching the weekend events unfold. My heart to goes out to every parent who had campers in the area. Thank you to the rescue workers. And I’m praying for all those who have suffered during the flooding. I’ll continue to pray for everyone affected and to offer my help in this time of need as we collectively grieve this terrible tragedy.
