Grief is part of the human experience. Twenty-four years ago, we as a nation, grieved the loss of life due to horrific act of terrorism. Thirteen years ago, we collectively mourned again after the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting. Three years, another school shooting happened at an elementary school in Uvalde, TX.
Today, there are people grieving the loss of their child, siblings, or parents. Some are grieving the loss of a friend or receiving a terminal diagnosis. We all experience grief - it is part of being human and provides us with a common bond.
However, there is hope and comfort to be found. We do not have to grieve alone. In moments like these, we can remember how we have been comforted and held before. At Trinity Hospice, we encounter the many forms of grief every day; however, one fact remains consistent. The God we serve is here to comfort us in every season.
βBlessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God.β - 2 Cor. 1:3-4
