✨ Teens Need Sleep (8–10 hrs) ✨
Sleep isn’t “lazy”—it’s fuel for immunity, focus, mood, and growth.
When teens don’t get enough, you may see:
• More colds + slower recovery (immune system dips)
• Brain fog, poor focus, lower test performance
• Mood swings, anxiety, irritability
• Slower reaction time (sports + driving risk)
• Hormone + metabolism changes (cravings, weight gain)
Quick wins for better sleep:
• Keep a consistent bedtime/wake time—even weekends
• Power down screens 60 min before bed (blue light = wired brain)
• Skip caffeine after 2 pm
• Cool, dark, quiet room; charge phones out of reach
• Get morning sunlight + daily movement
Noticing persistent fatigue, headaches, sore throat, or frequent illness? We’ve got you.

iCare ER & Urgent Care can check for dehydration, viral infections, strep/flu/COVID, and other issues that disrupt sleep. Walk in or check in online—no appointment needed.

✨ Google Review Spotlight ✨
We love hearing reviews like this! 🙌 Elizabeth J.’s story is the perfect reminder of why our motto is “A Better Way to Care.”
⬇️ Read her full review below ⬇️
“Let me first state that I HATE going to the doctor. Avoid it at all costs. I have always felt dismissed, just a number, or that everything was catered to insurance billing. I usually don’t even know what the diagnoses are when I leave, and I walk out more confused than when I came in—just thrown a bunch of prescriptions to see what sticks.
Today was completely different. First, I was relieved to see they take Care Credit. I expected a long wait but was called back as soon as I sat down. Every person I interacted with treated me with kindness and care—from front desk to vitals, X-ray, and exam. I learned they take walk-ins and for future visits I won’t even need an appointment. At check-in they explained how the billing tiers work (no insurance), so I knew what to expect. The front desk associate later came to collect payment and my signature after the exam—no checkout needed at the end!
Dr. Beezley treated me like a human being and understood that cost matters. He explained EVERYTHING, and I knew I was getting the best treatment. He and the nurse reviewed next steps if meds didn’t improve things. In the room, a poster showed intake/triage/treatment/checkout timelines, so while waiting for labs I knew I was still within my time and hadn’t been forgotten. I didn’t feel like an object on a conveyor belt, and nothing felt unnecessary. I will confidently return here in the future and send everyone I know. Thank you for taking such great care of me.”
💙 Thank you, Elizabeth J., for trusting our Fort Worth team!

👁️ August is National Eye Exam Month: Some symptoms may call for a routine check-up with your optometrist — but others signal a true emergency.
🚨 Go to the ER immediately if you experience🚨

• Sudden vision loss in one or both eyes
• Eye trauma or injury (including chemical exposure, objects stuck in the eye, or blunt force)
• Severe, sudden eye pain
• Flashes of light, floaters, or partial “shadows” in your vision
• Eye pain paired with headache, nausea, or vomiting (possible signs of increased eye pressure or neurological issues)
• Swelling, redness, or discharge that worsens quickly
These symptoms could indicate a retinal detachment, optic nerve damage, corneal abrasion, eye infection, or even stroke — all of which require immediate medical attention.🚑 At iCare ER & Urgent Care, we treat eye-related emergencies fast, with ER physicians on-site 24 hours a day. 🏥
