BLACK EMPOWERMENT MOVEMENT WAS FOUNDED ON AUGUST 23, 2014 WITH A GOAL TO PROVIDE FACTS THAT ENHANCES SELF-AWARENESS, IMPLEMENT PROGRAMS THAT TEACH LAWS, PROVIDE INTERVIEW/JOB TRAINING, YOUTH PROGRAMS, HELPING THE ELDERLY AND HOMELESS, AND MANY OTHER THINGS. OUR MISSION IS TO FOCUS OUR ENERGY STRICTLY AROUND FOUR KEY PRINCIPALS: BLACK ECONOMICS, BLACK EDUCATION, BLACK NUTRITION/HEALTH, AND BLACK UNITY. DURING THESE TIMES WE MUST STRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF OUR PEOPLE COMING TOGETHER TO UPLIFT, ENCOURAGE, AND HELP ONE ANOTHER.

✨💖 Love Patrol in the Pinks (Estelle Village) was a beautiful success yesterday! 💖✨

We were able to spread LOVE by passing out 🌹 roses, 🎒 backpacks, 🍎 fruits, 🍕 pizza, 💧 water, 🍼 diapers, snacks, good vibes — and most importantly, a lot of LOVE.

Big shoutout to Ricky Perry for putting this together and much love to all the groups and orgs who supported, like Commissary Is Very Necessary (CIVN)

✊🏾 FREE POLITICAL PRISONER: REV. JOY POWELL

Join Community Movement Builders Dallas chapter in honoring the legacy of resistance and raising critical funds for political prisoner: Rev. Joy Powell

Rev. Joy Powell is a fierce advocate, community pastor, and consistent voice against police brutality and injustice was targeted for her bold stance against systemic corruption. From 1995 to 2006, she led rallies in Rochester, NY, calling out police violence and demanding accountability.

In 2006, Rev. Joy was wrongfully convicted of 1st degree burglary and assault in what many believe was a politically motivated case meant to silence her activism. The Rochester Police had previously warned her she was a target—because she dared to speak truth to power.

🔥 This Black August, we stand in solidarity with Rev. Joy Powell who have been punished for her courage.

💸 Donations go toward legal fees to help us bring her home.
