Fancy mind blowing postures are beautiful, powerful and life affirming. I also find the introspective foundational yoga to be beautiful, powerful and life affirming in a way that levels the playing field. Setting the foundation and taking time to honor what a person has trained for is where we all begin the posture. How deeply the posture expands and how much longevity it offers depends on the foundation. In Anusara yoga setting the foundation is a part of our First Principle, Open to Grace. Its remembering that the posture begins with placement, breath, and the intention to honor the individual’s full expression of the Goodness that flows within.

Something important you might not know about yoga… The original purpose of yoga wasn’t fitness. It was awareness. Long before yoga was associated with workouts or complicated poses, the practice was about observing the mind, connecting to the breath, and cultivating presence, creating a union of mind, body, and spirit. The postures (asana) were meant to support that, helping the body become comfortable and steady enough to sit, breathe, and turn inward. That’s why yoga can still be incredibly meaningful even if your practice looks like: • gentle movement • breathing practices • meditation • rest • or simply noticing what your body needs You don’t have to do the most advanced pose in the room to be practicing yoga. Sometimes the most powerful part of yoga is simply paying attention. Save this as a reminder that yoga is more than poses. ✨ If you’re looking for gentle, accessible practices for chronic illness and autoimmune support, my course Hope & Healing Reset: A 7-Day Autoimmune Support Program is coming soon.

The first 5 years of practicing yoga didn't look like this for me at all. I could barely move, I had chronic fatigue and pain and was just trying to survive. But I kept living my life according to the principles of yoga and eventually the physical stuff started becoming possible ✨

Do you know what Yoga is? Searching Yoga on here you would never know its true meaning... Yoga means union and the aim of it is to connect with higher consciousness and be balanced in your mind, body, and spirit. Someone who practices easy physical exercises but maintains balance in their breath and in the vibration of their thought through meditation can be much more in union and more of a true yogi than someone who can do head stands and runs 5 miles a day. The physical practice helps you to create discipline and strengthen your body and most importantly your spine. The breath is important to calm the vibration of your mind and calm your nervous system. Finally meditation is essential to control the vibration of your mind and connect to higher consciousness to receive inspiration. I love all comments and questions so please share, and remember I'm here to help you meditate.

✨Most yoga classes rush through this movement✨In Kemetic Yoga, movement is never rushed. Every posture is practiced slowly, with breath control, body awareness, and intention. In this demonstration, Master Yirser Ra Hotep moves through the Bended Knee Lunge, a foundational Kemetic Yoga posture that develops strength, balance, and stability while encouraging deep presence in the body.Unlike many modern yoga styles that move quickly from pose to pose, Kemetic Yoga emphasizes controlled transitions and mindful alignment, allowing practitioners to build both physical strength and mental focus. This approach reflects the ancient temple science of Kemet, where movement, breath, and consciousness were practiced together as a system for self-mastery and holistic well-being.Sometimes the most powerful practice is simply slowing down and becoming fully present in the movement.Follow for more Kemetic Yoga teachings and demonstrations.
