Happy Thank a Resident Day!

Our residents play a vital role in our Internal Medicine & Family Medicine clinics at Hamilton Medical Center. Their compassion, professionalism, and patient-centered care strengthen our mission and elevate the experience of every patient they serve.

One of our favorite memories was hosting Residents Friendsgiving, where we gathered to celebrate the people who give so much of themselves to our community.

Thank you to all our residents for your hard work and the heart you bring to healthcare! đź’™

Last Thursday we kicked off our new “Dinner With The Doctors” series - created to share updates and milestones from programs across the hospital, with an evening focused on our Heart & Vascular program.

Thank you to Dr. Ateet Patel and Dr. Anand Kenia for their engaging presentations and an impressive “Show and Tell” featuring Leadless Pacemakers and the Medtronic Affera Sphere 9 - cutting-edge technologies that support more accurate reading of the heart and improved outcomes for patients and their families.

Heart & Vascular Patient Spotlights: Pam & Randy

Pam Puryear, a native of Chatsworth, is a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, as well as a true heart hero. Since 2018, she has been on a journey to battle Atrial Fibrillation (AFib). After four ablations, numerous doctors, multiple hospitals, and years of navigating a challenging healthcare journey, Pam finally received care from Dr. Anand Kenia. On October 7, 2025, Dr. Kenia performed a fifth ablation, utilizing the innovative Pulsed Field Ablation technology, making the procedure safer and more efficient than ever before. Since October, Pam's heart has been in rhythm, and her quality of life has been steadily improving. As she anticipates the new year, Pam is excited to return to the activities she cherishes most: leading an active lifestyle, traveling, and enjoying precious moments with her family.

Randy Bonifacious first experienced symptoms of Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) in 2022, which began to significantly impact his daily life. Routine activities, such as climbing a flight of stairs, became increasingly challenging, often leaving him breathless and fatigued. His devoted life partner, Rhonda, quickly sensed that something was not right. After a trip to Hamilton’s emergency department and follow up testing, it was determined AFib was the culprit. In September 2025, Dr. Anand Kenia performed an ablation procedure on Randy to address the AFib that had been affecting his well-being. Since that time, Randy has embraced life with renewed gratitude, returning to the activities he cherishes most: fishing and spending time with family.

Both Pam and Randy reflect that if it had not been for the high-quality healthcare close to home that Hamilton’s Heart and Vascular team was able to provide, their heart healthcare journeys would have looked very different. When asked what it meant to receive care in her hometown, Pam states, “the opportunity for our community to have this service is life changing.” Randy reiterates, “being able to stay home to receive this care meant the world to me.”

“Dr. Kenia and his PA Meagan made me feel comfortable and confident, even after the very first meeting. They spent time with me, asked me a lot of questions, and genuinely wanted to know more about my journey up to that point.” - Pam

“Choosing to stay here and have the ablation done with Dr. Kenia was the best decision we ever made.” – Randy & Rhonda
