Wow, so very very true! This does not mean you are not great at what you do, your not a good partner, a good mom and leader this means you need to step back and take a min. Just Give yourself a minute to regroup. Don’t feel bad about it. From experience, don’t ignore the over stimulation and try to open more tabs. Don’t do it. Take a walk or simply just close your eyes for a brief min and get up and keep going. You have to recognize the signals your body is giving you. Your longevity, your life span, mental health and overall well being is warning you 💕
Can we talk about how women get OVERSTIMULATED, & it's mistaken for anger?? No, she's not angry. The TV is too loud, the dryer is running, someone's mowing the lawn, her phone won't stop dinging, her shirt feels too tight, her messy bun isn't sitting right, and there's crumbs on the floor she can feel under her feet. She's not MAD. She's overstimulated & just needs a minute to pull herself together.
Let's break it down: sensory overload is real, y'all. Women's brains are wired to process multiple stimuli at once, and sometimes it gets too much. We're talking tactile, auditory, visual - it's all coming in at once, and it's like her brain is a computer with too many tabs open. She's not being "dramatic" or "emotional". She's trying to close those tabs, one by one, and just breathe. So next time she's short with you, check-in: is she hungry, tired, or OVERWHELMED? Maybe she just needs a quiet moment, a snack, and a hug. Let's normalize giving each other space to recharge, yeah?
