Good Morning All - We are looking for you help in spreading the word to boat owners that use the storage rack in the back parking lot. We'll be removing the rack next week as we prepare for Pumpkinfest. All boat owners are asked to remove their boats by the end of the day Thursday, October 9th. Any boats left on the storage rack at the time of removal will be disposed.
Q: Why does this storage rack need to be removed?
A: Out of an abundance of caution and to reduce the risk of injury to spectators during the Pumpkinfest Regatta, the rack is removed. Spectators have use anything and everything to gain an advantageous perspective and we do not want to see anyone get hurt or damage the storage rack.
Q: What if a boat is locked on the storage rack?
A: The lock will be removed and the boat will be disposed.
Q: Why can't we contact the boat owners directly?
A: This storage rack is available to boat owners at no charge and with no registration system. This is a great benefit for the few boats it can accommodate, but again, there is no list of the users/boat owners at any given time.
Q: Is the removal of the storage rack earlier than normal?
A: Sort of. The last few years we have aimed to have the storage rack removed before the Pumpkinfest weekend. Further back, the storage rack did stay out until later in October, but we became concerned for the safety of people, the boats, and the storage rack itself when individuals climb on it.

Until then, storage is available to help you access the river to enjoy the crisp fall air and changing leaves! Don't forget to pop into some of your favorite shops before or after your paddle!
