From Alabama to Maine, compassionate care makes a lasting impact. 💜

Today, we are proud to recognize Trudy, BSN, of the Emergency Department at MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital as our May 2026 DAISY Award winner.

While traveling in Maine, a Retired Army Colonel experienced a sudden medical emergency and turned to our team for help. In his nomination, he shared how Trudy responded with calm professionalism, kindness and efficiency during a deeply stressful moment, ensuring he received the care and support he needed.

In addition to this heartfelt recognition, colleagues describe Trudy as highly attentive, consistently compassionate and someone who brings warmth and positivity to every interaction.

Congratulations, Trudy, and thank you for the exceptional care you provide to our patients, families and community every day. 🌼

The Central Lincoln County YMCA will offer the Healthy Families Program beginning June 1. This free, 25-session program supports children ages 7–13, along with their families, in building healthier lifestyles.

Adapted from the evidence-based MEND (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition, Do It!) model, the program has been shown to improve overall health outcomes. Participants will learn about nutrition and physical activity while developing practical skills to support long-term healthy habits. The program also focuses on building confidence, self-esteem, and strengthening family connections.

Participation includes a free YMCA membership. A referral from a healthcare provider or school nurse is required.

Two doses of the MMR vaccine is 97% effective against measles and generally provides lifelong immunity. Getting both doses, recommended at 12-15 months and 4-6 years old, gives you the best protection and helps stop the spread of measles in our communities.

A small act that carries a powerful message.

The Yellow Tulip Project Hope Garden has officially bloomed. Last fall, MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital's Community Health team partnered with students from Wiscasset Middle High School to plant yellow tulip bulbs - and this spring, those flowers have come up beautifully, offering a visible symbol of hope for the entire school community.

The Yellow Tulip Project is a youth-driven nonprofit working to break the silence and stigma surrounding mental illness, and to inspire hope through community action.

We’re grateful to these students for helping bring that mission to life in such a meaningful way. 💛
