MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital recently hosted Doctors Demystify: Cartilage and Fascia Disorders for OTs and PTs, a continuing education conference designed for occupational and physical therapists.

Held on November 1 at the Watson Health Center in Damariscotta, the event brought together therapists and a panel of orthopedic experts, including Dr. Ross Feller, Dr. Peter Hutchinson, Dr. Mark Spencer, Dr. Elaine Balutis and Dr. Jim Wilkerson.

Participants explored in-depth anatomy, detailed physical exam techniques, and current treatment concepts related to cartilage, ligaments, and fascia of the upper limb. Attendees left equipped to enhance patient care through improved assessment skills, clearer patient education, and stronger treatment planning.

We are thrilled to celebrate Rachel Dodge, RN, CMSRN, Med-Surg Charge Nurse at MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital, for receiving the Emerging Nurse Leadership Award from the Organization of Maine Nurse Leaders (OMNL)!

Rachel was recognized for her innovation, mentorship and dedication to advancing nursing practice and patient care. The award was presented on October 3 at the OMNL Annual Meeting.

“Her impact extends far beyond her immediate team, shaping a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and growth that not only strengthens staff but also meaningfully improves patient outcomes,” wrote Beth Kessler, MaineHealth Coastal Region Director of Clinical and Professional Development, in her nomination.

Join our team of pelvic health physical therapists, women’s health nurses and providers for a welcoming session focused on postpartum recovery — including tips for lifting and carrying newborns, returning safely to exercise, and understanding how breathing supports your pelvic floor.
