It’s that time of year when festive parties seem to be every single week…that means lots of opportunities to consume excess liquid calories and stall all that progress you’ve been making.

Now I’m not shaming anyone if they enjoy an alcoholic drink or two. However, as with any choice we make there are positive (and negative) effects on our bodies. This is time of year when the days get shorter and the holidays are upon us. Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas have one thing in common…extra sweet treats seem to be everywhere. It’s easy to find ourselves snacking more than usual and maybe feeling a little more sluggish. Regulating our blood sugar levels is key to maintaining our energy levels and avoiding the increase in empty calories.

Ok so summer is officially over…. if you found yourself a little “off track” with your routine, it’s time to jump back into the groove. Tracking is a great way to stay on top of your habits and behaviors that can help get you closer to your goals. Accountability is one of the most effective ways to keep you in check and avoid getting lazy with your habits. My clients use tracking in various forms that not only helps them stay on track, but as their coach I am able to see where there is room to improve, how to progress them to the next level and troubleshoot any issues they may be having. Think of it as a daily report card for yourself😉

Track yourself (nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, water) for 1 week- what would your grade be at the end of the week? If you are honestly grading yourself in line with your goals are you an A student or a D student? Is there room for improvement? Are your daily habits getting you closer to your goals each day?

If you are feeling stuck or like you aren’t sure what to do to get to where you want to be, it could be time to reach out for some help.

As 2023 comes to a end, did you accomplish all you had hoped? How are you planning to level up in 2024? Have you been true to yourself and challenged yourself, or just existed? It’s time to find you…be your happiest and healthiest version of you. Keep it simple! Set a plan in place and DO IT! Here are a few of my top tips for setting the wheels in motion to better health, and to looking like the bombshell you are: 1. Cut out processed and added sugar. 2. Drink your water! Increase your water intake by at least 8oz from what you usually drink. 3. Move your body every single day. Walk, cycle, run, it doesn’t matter as long as you get your heart rate up and a sweat going for at least 30 mins every day. 4. LIFT weights 3x per week! Ladies, you WILL NOT get “big” 5. Prioritize protein intake (approx 1 gram per pound of bodyweight) and as many veggies as you can! 6. Sleep. Put your phone away and sleep. Aim for 7-8 hours. I promise if you follow these steps you will be on your way to the best version of yourself!
