HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR!!!
In traditional Chinese culture, the Year of the Dragon holds significant symbolism and is deeply intertwined with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The dragon is considered a powerful and auspicious animal, representing strength, vitality, and good fortune.
In TCM, each year is associated with one of the twelve zodiac animals, and the Year of the Dragon is particularly revered for its association with vitality and transformation. People born in the Year of the Dragon are believed to possess characteristics such as intelligence, ambition, and strong health, according to TCM principles.
Within the framework of traditional Chinese medicine, the Year of the Dragon is often viewed as a time for promoting health and wellness.
This would be an ideal time to consider some self-care with TCM. Practitioners may emphasize the importance of maintaining balance in the body's vital energy, known as qi, and offer specific recommendations to support overall well-being during this auspicious year. This could include advice on diet, exercise, herbal remedies, acupuncture, and other holistic practices aimed at optimizing health and vitality. Moreover, the dragon is closely linked to the concept of qi in TCM philosophy. While today marks the unofficial start of summer with barbecues, beach time, and other outdoor activities and festivities, let us also remember the significance of this day.

On this Full Moon Friday, I'm cleaning and purging things in the house, including my refrigerator. I used up the last of some onions, carrots, mushrooms and some beef to create this tasty and nourishing fried rice for lunch today.

Getting rid of stuff can be so healing and satisfying, especially when it comes in the form of food as medicine! Making a meal that promotes those feel-good endorphins and awakens all your senses is so deeply satisfying!!
👂: the sounds of the ingredients sizzling in the pan;
👃: the aromas from the marriage of soy sauce and sesame oil, and the depth of flavor added from the garlic and other spices;
👀: the visual of colors where you can taste the rainbow; and, finally,
😋: feeling the warmth and love in your belly with every bite!

Now, THAT is how to nourish not just your body, but your "Seoul"...mwah! *Chef's kiss*
