The monkey thought the fish was drowning.
So he pulled it from the river
and placed it gently on a tree branch.
And that’s where the fish took its last breath.

He meant well.

But what felt like danger to him
was actually the fish’s way of being.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot
how easy it is to assume we know what’s best
when we’re looking through our own lens.
How often we rush in to fix,
when maybe what’s really needed
is presence, listening, stillness.

Not everything that looks like struggle
is a call to rescue.
And sometimes, real love
means letting others stay in their water
even if we don’t understand it.

Just something I’m sitting with today.
