Natural Family Medicine

Natural Family Medicine What is Naturopathic Medicine? By strictest definition it is the oldest form of medicine practiced.

Its foundations are found both in nature and in the body's ability to heal itself when the blockages to well-being have been removed. Blockages occur on any or all three levels of health - physical, emotional or bio-chemical. They can be due to emotional stress and turmoil, physical trauma such as broken bones or biochemical imbalances such as allergy and food sensitivities. Naturopathic medicine works on all three levels to remove any blockages and bring the body back into balance.

The average person throws away nine times their own body weight in waste every year. As much as 30% of that waste is in the form of food scraps and yard waste that could otherwise be used in composting.

holds true to all docs if they practice as humanitarians... The dinner guests were sitting around the table discussing life.
One man, a Medical Doctor, decided to explain the problem with Homeopathy. He argued, "What's a person going to get out of homeopathy other than junk science, a sugar pill and water? Why would anyone want to be a Homeopath?"
To stress his point he said to another guest;
"You're a Homeopath Mrs Smith, What do you make?"
Mrs Smith, who had a reputation for honesty and frankness replied, "You want to know what I make?
(She paused for a second, then began...)
"Well, I make people well again, healthier than they ever thought they could be.
I make people believe in themselves again.
I make people sit through a 90 minute consultation when their medical doctors haven't got 7 minutes to spare, constantly looking at the computerised history, without listening to the patient before writing up another prescription.
You want to know what I make?
(She paused again and looked at each and every person at the table)
I make people think about possible causes, wonder if there is a reason for their illness.
I make them question me.
I make them look at their lifestyle choices.
I make them feel responsible for their health, empowered.
I make them have respect for themselves again.
I teach them how to listen to their bodies, see the signs, join the dots and avoid the triggers.
I make them research, research and research some more.
I make them understand that all their emotions and pain is real.
They use their God given brain, not the brain of a person in a white coat.
I make them see how unique they are, preserving their dignity.
I make my consultation room a place where all my patients feel safe.
Finally, I make them understand how their body works, why dis-ease occurs and how homeopathy works and how to reach optimum health again.
(Mrs Smith paused one last time and then continued.)
Then, when people try to judge me by what I make, with me knowing money isn't everything, I can hold my head up high and pay no attention because they are ignorant. You want to know what I make - a difference.
What do you make Doctor?
His jaw dropped; he went silent.

What's New

The heart rate depends upon a number of factors including age and fitness levels. As a child grows older the rate falls. A new born baby’s heart beats from 70 to 100 beats per minute while that of an athlete can be 40 to 60 bpm mainly because the fitness makes the heart beat more efficiently and pump more blood in every beat.
