At the academy last weekend, we learned about a reentry resource we have available to Stokes County Citizens. It lists all sorts of options for healthcare, job assistance, counseling, etc. If you work with any citizens that might be able to use these resources, please share the app or download it so you can have the latest information. We will be working with this company to ensure our list is up to date in the near future 💜💜💜

We had the BEST time at the first session of the settlement academy, we learned about trauma informed care, reentry programs, medication for opioid use disorder in jail settings, and so much more! We can't wait for the next session in January and to put together a reentry plan for our county. Thank you to the team for everything you did to make it a success!

The American Heart Association has updated their guidelines for CPR this year, they now include information on Narcan administration and signs of overdose! Not only does this improve access to care, but it reduces stigma and makes these conversations more commonplace 💜💜💜

Substance use disorder (SUD) is a treatable condition, not a reflection of anyone’s moral character. Jorgie wants everyone to know that SUD can affect anyone, and most importantly, that help and recovery are always possible.
