Regional Hospice

Regional Hospice Founded in 1983, Regional Hospice is a nonprofit hospice care provider based in Connecticut. We believe this journey is one best taken together.

Our mission is to approach death by creating human connection and honoring each unique journey through a shared vision for living. Since 1983, Regional Hospice has provided patients with care choices in private homes, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities and our Center for Comfort Care & Healing residence during a sacred life transition. Hospice is a philosophy by which those with life limiting illness and their loved ones are nurtured through the end of life experience. Regional Hospice walks beside those in our care through the transition of what was, what is, and what is next, by empowering them with choices to meet their own unique vision for living. Regional Hospice recognizes that grief knows no timeline and provides vital support through the Healing Hearts program which provides bereavement services for anyone in the community without cost.

A huge thank you to the Abbott Tech Awareness Group (ATAG) at Henry Abbott Technical High School in Danbury! The amazing student-led club raised money through their fundraising efforts and chose to donate it to Regional Hospice in support of our mission.

We’re grateful for these young leaders who work to uplift local nonprofits and bring awareness to the needs in our community.

Jen Matlack, our Managing Director of Philanthropy, recently shared our mission at a Hearts of Hope painting event at the Newtown Community Center.

Hearts of Hope volunteers bring comfort to those experiencing loss and tragedy by creating hand-painted ceramic hearts filled with messages of compassion, love, and hope.

These beautiful hearts (65 in total!) were later delivered to our Center for Comfort Care & Healing where they will be shared with clinical staff and family members in bereavement support and as reminders of all the care and kindness that exists in our community.🧡🩷

For almost 40 years our experienced clinicians have provided physical, emotional, spiritual and bereavement support through our hospice care program. With the 2015 opening of our innovative, private-room, hospice center for end-of-life care — the Center for Comfort Care & Healing — Regional Hospice brings hope and compassionate care close to home and under one roof. Our mission is to create human connection and honor each patient’s unique end of life journey. We are state-licensed, Medicare-certified and serve children, adults and their families in Connecticut, New York and beyond.
