Regional Hospice

Regional Hospice Founded in 1983, Regional Hospice is a nonprofit hospice care provider based in Connecticut. We believe this journey is one best taken together.

Our mission is to approach death by creating human connection and honoring each unique journey through a shared vision for living. Since 1983, Regional Hospice has provided patients with care choices in private homes, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities and our Center for Comfort Care & Healing residence during a sacred life transition. Hospice is a philosophy by which those with life limiting illness and their loved ones are nurtured through the end of life experience. Regional Hospice walks beside those in our care through the transition of what was, what is, and what is next, by empowering them with choices to meet their own unique vision for living. Regional Hospice recognizes that grief knows no timeline and provides vital support through the Healing Hearts program which provides bereavement services for anyone in the community without cost.

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Servicengine Team Makes a Difference!🌟

On Tuesday, 9/23/25, we welcomed 17 amazing volunteers from Servicengine as part of their global team-building program and wow, did they make an impact! 🩷
Huge thanks to Jen Matlack & Emily Sweeney for joining us to welcome the team and see the positive vibes in action!

What they did:

- Planted 12 Arborvitae trees to beautify our grounds

- Power washed & cleaned our front white fence (hello, curb appeal!)

Their energy, teamwork, and generosity will leave a lasting impression on all of us. 🧡

This past week we celebrated the 10th anniversary of our inpatient Center for Comfort Care & Healing in Danbury. We also celebrated the support of our generous donors and our incredible staff who enable us to provide heart-centered care to our patients and their loved ones every day.
Here’s to a decade of serving our community in a sacred and mindful way, and to many, many more years ahead. 🩷🧡

Congratulations to Brady, one of our beloved therapy dogs, on his recent retirement! Brady has been coming to our Center for Comfort Care & Healing to visit patients, their loved ones and staff for the past two years. Now that he’s 12, he’ll be spending most of his days napping and taking leisurely walks — and making guest appearances back here every once in a while. Read Brady's story here: https://regionalhospicect.org/a-golden-heart-bradys-legacy-of-comfort-and-joy/

Brady’s handler, Helen Hedemann, has been volunteering with us for 10 years! She started visiting with her dog at the time, Raffi. Helen has always been such a kind and dedicated volunteer, bringing so much joy to our patients and their loved ones!
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you Brady and Helen (and Raffi!) for all the comfort and joy you've brought over the years! And thank you Gwyn Davidson for sharing your beautiful Brady with us!

Brady is pictured here with Helen, Gwyn, and Gwyn’s mom, Barbara.
