🌟 Resident Spotlight🌟

When Joshua first came to us, he had experienced multiple falls and was feeling discouraged about his mobility. With a history of a traumatic brain injury, rebuilding strength and confidence felt like a big challenge.

But with the dedication of our therapy and nursing teams — and his own determination — progress started to show. Step by step, session by session, he grew stronger and steadier.

Today, he’s walking with his walker, moving more safely, and feeling proud of how far he’s come. 💪

If you know him, you also know two important things: he loves his peanut M&M’s and coffee — and he’s not shy about asking anyone nearby to grab him a cup! ☕😊

His journey is a great reminder that recovery takes teamwork, patience, and a little sweetness along the way.

Today we celebrated two vibrant cultural events in our community — Chinese New Year and Mardi Gras! 🎉🌏

For Chinese New Year, our residents celebrated with a festive game of Chinese New Year Bingo as we welcomed the Year of the Horse! We even had a special visit from our facility dragon — who turned 25 years old today! 🐉🎉

The Year of the Horse symbolizes energy, strength, and independence. Those born in the Year of the Horse are said to be hardworking, social, adventurous, and full of positive spirit. The horse is known for bringing enthusiasm and forward momentum — making it a year associated with progress, confidence, and success. 🐎✨

Our second celebration took us to the colorful world of Mardi Gras!

Also known as “Fat Tuesday,” Mardi Gras marks the final day of celebration before the Christian season of Lent begins. The tradition is especially famous in New Orleans, where parades, music, beads, and King Cake are all part of the fun. The official Mardi Gras colors each have special meanings:

💜 Purple – Justice
💚 Green – Faith
💛 Gold – Power

They enjoyed creating festive Valentine’s Day art projects, sharing laughs, and showing off their creativity. Of course, no celebration is complete without something sweet — everyone also enjoyed a delicious treat!

Day Two and Three of our Resident Winter Olympics were a HUGE success and so much fun! ❄️🏅

Our residents brought their competitive spirit and teamwork to an exciting lineup of events including:

⛄ Snowball Toss
🥌 Curling
🎯 Biathlon Duck Hunt
⛷️ Ski Jump
🏒 Hockey

We wrapped up the games with a wonderful Awards Ceremony to celebrate everyone’s effort, sportsmanship, and amazing energy!

Our Recreation Department kicked off our 3-day Resident Winter Olympics, and the first day was a huge success! ❄️🏅

Everyone had a blast participating and being part of a team—cheering each other on, sharing lots of laughs, and enjoying some friendly competition. 🎉

Today’s events included: Snowball Relay, Luge Race, and Ice Fishing.

Danbury Garden Club stopped by to brighten our residents’ day by creating beautiful flower arrangements together 🌷💐 With everything covered in snow outside, it was a lovely refresher and a sweet reminder that spring is on its way. Smiles, color, and a little springtime cheer filled the room!
