East Grand Health Center has had many exciting things happen in 2024 and we cannot wait to share with everyone the new things happening in 2025!
Due to our excellent growth within the past year, we must make changes in some areas that will allow for an easier workflow for our providers and staff. Starting January 2nd, 2025:
1. We will be requiring 24-48 hour notice for all medication refills. While we have been fortunate enough in the past to be able to send in refill requests the same day, our providers and clinical staff are much busier throughout the day and may not be able to complete the request. The best option is to call your pharmacy to request a refill, but should you call the office to request it please note that it will not be addressed the same day.
2. Lab results: You should receive a call within 7 days with your lab results if you do not have an upcoming follow up appointment to discuss them. We cannot stress enough that the patient portal is a great resource for all of your results. Any of our staff are more than welcome to walk you through the steps on using this…your never too old to learn something new! 😉
3. Referrals: All outgoing referrals will be processed within 7 days. If you prefer to go to one facility or office over another we ask that you please let us know to save from duplicate work.
4. Appointments: While we do call the day prior to your appointments to try to confirm we are not always able to reach everyone personally. We will leave a message if able and even try again later in the day. If for some reason you are not able to attend your upcoming appointment we ask that you please notify our office as soon as possible as we have a wait list of patients waiting for an available opening. Should you not be able to reach us during office hours to notify us, our answering service is more than happy to take your message and we can return your call the next business day to reschedule.
5. New Patients: If you are looking to establish care with one of our providers we do require previous medical records prior to scheduling. If you have signed a request for records and haven’t received a call back to schedule within 2 weeks, please call our office so we can follow up with the sending facility on your request.
6. Requests to speak with provider: Since our providers are busy seeing patients in the office throughout the day, the return calls will not be made until after 4:00pm or the following day. These requests will be triaged by our Medical Assistants to try to gather as much information as possible for them regarding your concern.
