When you lose your eyebrows, you learn quickly that they played an integral role in your identity, especially regarding your expression of emotion to people around you. Losing eyebrows can easily lower your self-confidence and make it difficult to even look at yourself in the mirror. If you're reading this, you've likely already ventured down the path of hair loss, and are wondering what to do. Pe
rhaps you've lost just your eyebrows, maybe your eye-lashes as well, or maybe even all of the hair on your body. Whether you lost your hair quickly, or over a period of time, we know it is a devastating reality that far too many people take lightly. Losing your eyebrows is a tragic occurrence. But I'm here to fix that. I understand the devastation of losing your eyebrows because it happened to me over a short six-month period between the winter of of 2009 and summer 2010, when I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease, Alopecia Universalis, which is correlated with high levels of stress. After my first year of rigorous military training coupled with an Engineering degree at the Royal Military College of Canada, all of my hair, including my eyebrows and eye-lashes, fell out in clumps . After losing all of my hair, and having no eyebrows left, I could hardly recognize myself in the mirror. I could barely stand looking at myself in the mirror for years, and I always felt self-conscious about the expressions my face was either communicating or not communicating to those I interacted with. Over the next decade, I continued with this stress, training to fly and operationally flying CF-18 fighter jets, with no improvement in my eyebrows or hair situation. As I searched over the last decade for solutions which specifically addressed my eyebrow hair loss, it became disappointingly clear that very few existed. Over the years I experimented with glue and tape-on "eyebrow-wigs" and eyebrow crayons but never achieved any level of success. The "eyebrow-wigs" were always far too intense, bushy-looking and would fall off. In-fact, an "eyebrow wig" once fell off of my face and blocked my vision while I was executing high G-force maneuvers in a fighter jet. And for the crayons - they always looked drawn-on and fake. On top of these problems, neither the "eyebrow-wigs" nor eyebrow pencils were waterproof - they would fall off or smear off even if I started to sweat! In understanding this immeasurable difficulty that people with no eyebrows face, I felt a need to find a solution. The solution had two hard requirements. It had to be an eyebrow that you could easily affix to your face, and it had to look extremely realistic, conveying your personality and emotion seamlessly and congruently with your facial expressions. On-top of that, it would be ideal if it were waterproof (so you could swim and shower), scratch resistant (so you could live a normal life, and not worry about it wiping off), and last at least a few days (so you wouldn't have to spend lots of time always applying new ones). With that, My Two Brows was born in the end of 2020. Thanks for taking the time to read about us and for supporting a business that strives to support those who are struggling with eyebrow loss. The reason I am so confident in selling My Two Brows is that I use them myself every day! We look forward to fulfilling our commitment in bringing your identity and emotion back to your face, wherever you may be.
