Built on faith and guided by grace, we provide therapeutic riding, the use of hippotherapy services by a licensed Occupational Therapist, sport and recreational ridiing, internships, volunteer opportunities, job coaching, and research in this and related fields.

This Saturday is the day!! Anytime from 10-4! Last big cleaning workbee and help is needed! We need to finish clearing cobwebs from the stall area, clean the entryway by the bathroom, clean and organize the upstairs tack room, finish cleaning and organizing the aisle way.

Volunteers and staff have gotten so much work done so far!! We are nearly done! Help us finish this project before the fall term starts with all its busy schedules!!

We hope to give horses a bath next Friday if it is warm enough 🙂!

Hey horse friends! This is a church that puts on this festival in langsburg. We have done it in the past but are not currently able to. They are looking for a few horses to do short rides at their festival in Sept. Please let me know if you are interested 🙂!

Fall schedule is nearly full, tomorrow is our first of 4 work bees to help us purge and organize after a very hectic year so far! We will be working on a variety of projects; cleaning, organizing, repairing, landscaping etc! If any of these things you would like to help with please come join us! The weather is helpfully milder and we soooo appreciate your help! Fri, tomorrow from 10 am on. Tuesday Aug 26 and Wednesday Aug 27, Sat Aug 30 and Sun Aug 31 are the other workbee days!!
Neighbor Mark has been whittling away at the weeds that have overtaken the fence line in the pastures! I’m sure he’d love some help with resetting a few posts and getting the weeds down!
Neighbor Jeff will be working on repairs in the horse barn. Need some help with de-cobwebbing and with moving hay to that barn.
Nancy will be helping with weeding that took over my flower beds!!
We are working on being ready with our presentations and hosting the instructor update, continuing to get ready for our accreditation (I HAVE TO FIGURE OUT DROPBOX!!), as well as continue with preparations for our fall fundraisers!!
Sept 20 Amy and Amber have organized a casino bus trip with CHUM as the beneficiary .
Sept 28 is our next expected BINGO FOR CHUM!
Oct 4 is a golf outing at Lakeland Hills in Jackson by Amy and Amber with CHUM as the beneficiary.

As always this season has been so very busy, challenges, victories, lessons, new stories,….oh yes….AND HEAT 🙂! Yikes!
As the chapter on this season closes and the next one opens, we are doing a big push to clean, purge and fix 🙂!
And now we are excited to host the 4H Instructor PEP Update in Sept! Our accreditation is also now happening as well!
This gives us even more reason to post this call out! If you are willing to help with even one task on our lists, whether outside around the barns or inside the arena, classroom, etc, we encourage you to please join us! We have four dates set up as work bee opportunities: Aug 22, 26, 27, 30 and 31. Come join us as we ready for our next chapter as host and add another 5 year Premier Accredited Center to CHUMs future!

Thank you to all of you who support CHUM in any way! Today especially I thank those who have come to our aid to help put up hay! The past few years and most especially now and going forward that help and other maintenance work like it, can make the difference for our future here 🙂! Facing an upcoming birthday and the reality of those numbers oddly only rising each year (I mean really!!!), Bryan and I can only continue CHUM with the blessings of help like we received today! We cannot put up hay on our own, keep up on all the work on the property etc without the amazing help God has brought to us! We have most recently had help generously given by friends and families of CHUM and neighbors! From natures urgent challenges who sent others to our aid to the sweet man down the road who has been working on the huge and ongoing project of clearing our fence line, to our dear friends working to improve the stalls for the horses…
To today… 1224 bales of hay! 2 semis to unload before it was too dangerous a task in the heat!! In just about two hours these sweet people gave their time to get the hay put up, 1224 bales in two hours!! Thank you all! I wish I’d taken pics of their work but we all were a little busy 🙂!

We went from fair to the UP for our annual outreach the Dickinson County PEP this past week! I’ll have pics from fair when I’m done here, but as always life moves on! I have hay coming in Sun am at 8:30 and am in need of help to get it in the barn! If you can help please please let me know 🙂! Many hands make light work 🙂!

As the summer term nears its end and horse shows end for another summer, we reflect on all that’s come along 🙂! Some have have seen our challenges over the past few months and have said, ‘you can’t seem to catch a break 🙂’! This makes me smile bc it’s an opportunity to share that we see each challenge as a moment when God is with us through whatever is happening and we can see the blessings and answers to our prayers. And we see the love and support of families and friends and we get the chance to pray Gods blessings on them! We get stronger in our trust and faith with each trial we come through looking to God to lead us! ….haha I guess that means this year we have gotten exponentially stronger than last year! I have a shirt that says ‘Faith doesn’t make things easy…Faith makes things possible’. 🙂!

We are excited to announce several things 🙂…!

Monday afternoon we were visited by the people from ADTV who spent the afternoon leaning about CHUM. When I have a link to the interview I will post it and please feel free to share to all your peeps :))!

We have some wonderful families who are helping CHUM by putting on two fundraisers!!
