🧼 It’s National Handwashing Awareness Week!
Good hygiene starts with your hands — and proper handwashing is one of the simplest, most effective ways to prevent illness and stop the spread of germs.

Here’s how to wash them right:
💧 Wet your hands with clean, running water.
🫧 Lather with soap — don’t forget the backs, between fingers, and under nails.
⏱️ Scrub for at least 20 seconds (try humming “Happy Birthday” twice!).
🚰 Rinse well and dry with a clean towel or air dry.

Clean hands = healthy communities. 💙

MFM Health Update on Vaccines and Autism

We know recent changes to a CDC webpage about vaccines and autism have caused confusion for many families. When national messaging shifts, it can leave parents unsure of what to trust.

Here’s what we want you to know. Decades of research involving millions of children show no link between routine childhood vaccines and autism. This is supported by the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Autism Science Foundation, the Autism Society, the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases, and the National Academy of Medicine.

At MFM Health, we follow the evidence and stay focused on making lives meaningfully better. If you have questions about vaccines, autism evaluations, timing, or your child’s schedule, our team is here to talk with you directly.

Your concerns are welcome, and your family’s health is our priority.

🥧 Navigating IBS During Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is all about food and family — but if you’re one of the millions living with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), the holiday table can be a real challenge.

Dr. Kevin Ollington, our GI specialist at MFM Health in Danvers, shares this reminder:
“Managing IBS during the holidays doesn’t mean missing out — it’s about knowing your triggers, balancing portions, and giving your body time to digest.”

💡 Here are a few quick tips for a more comfortable holiday:

1. Eat smaller, balanced portions throughout the day
2. Avoid high-fat, spicy, or overly rich foods that can trigger symptoms
3. Stay hydrated — water helps keep digestion on track
4. Manage stress — it’s one of the biggest IBS triggers

You don’t have to navigate IBS alone. Our Gastroenterology team can help you identify your triggers and develop a plan that works for you.
