Hey there EMT!! Are you interested in progressing to Advanced EMT? The DATC can help. Our next Advanced EMT Class starts February 10th. The application period is now open. It will remain open until January 23rd. The program will meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The same class is taught both nights, so you only need to attend one night. We will also meet one Saturday a month. Class will be completed on June 13th. This is a hybrid program so you will be required to complete online training while away from the classroom.
You will also be required to complete clinical time at Sovah Emergency Dept. and on an ambulance. Check out the www.datc.training for more information and to download an application.

Happy New Year! We are just six weeks from the DATC's Super CE Weekend! You will have the opportunity to obtain 21 CE credits by attending the entire weekend. Dates are February 13th, 14th, and 15th. The Danville Area Training Center will be the host site again this year. We will be live streaming our classes to Chatham Fire, Gretna Fire & Rescue, Virginia International Raceway (employees), and Danville Fire Station #1. We are excited to add Henry County Public Safety as a new site this year!
We still have a couple slots on the schedule to confirm before we release the weekend schedule. However, we can drop a few names. Mike Garnett, Ashley Smallwood, Bob Page, and Dr. Brian Zagol are just a few of our presenters. We plan on releasing the schedule by the end of the upcoming week. We will also be highlighting classes very soon.
You can sign up to attend at the Danville Area Training Center by going to datc.training/superce. Each day is broken into a morning and afternoon segment. Please sign up if you plan to attend any segment. To attend at Chatham or Gretna, please email kasey.seay@pittgov.org. Information on how to register at Henry Co. Public Safety will be announced next week.
Last year was a record setting weekend for the Super CE Weekend. Our hero and guardian angel Tommy Pruett would be so proud. National First Responders Day is observed on October 28 to honor police officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, and 911 dispatchers. The day recognizes their courage, dedication, and the critical role they play in community safety, and it serves as a national day of gratitude for their selfless service. The observance can also be a call to action to support first responders.
