Did you know that today is The National Day of Rest for Black Women?
The National Day of Rest for Black Women is a day dedicated to honoring the resilience and contributions of Black women by encouraging them to prioritize rest and self-care. In 2025, this observance falls on March 10th, coinciding with the anniversary of Harriet Tubman's death. Harriet Tubman, renowned for her role in leading enslaved people to freedom via the Underground Railroad, also emphasized the importance of rest and restoration in the fight for liberation.
On this day, Black women are encouraged to take a break from their daily responsibilities, engage in activities that promote relaxation and well-being, and reflect on the historical significance of rest as a form of resistance. Communities and organizations may host events, workshops, or discussions focused on self-care practices, mental health awareness, and the celebration of Black women's achievements. โค๏ธ๐ค๐
