As Crime Prevention Month comes to a close, Ephraim McDowell Health wants to raise awareness about human trafficking — and the fact that it happens locally. It’s everywhere.

Victims are often exploited by someone they know and may be too afraid to ask for help. They may be threatened, coerced, fear for their families, or have no control over their identification. These experiences can have lasting effects on mental health, causing trauma, anxiety, depression, and more.

If you suspect someone is in danger, contact the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888 or text “HELP” to 233733. 💙

Ephraim McDowell Health is serving as a collection site now through November 9th. Non-perishable donations can be dropped off at all three hospital lobbies and the McDowell Wellness Center.

Help a neighbor in need! Join the Boyle County Homeless Coalition's Food Drive and their partners City of Danville, Ephraim McDowell Health, Centre College! No one should have to choose between paying their rent and putting food on their table.

Ephraim McDowell Garrard Clinic is permanently closed, but your trusted providers — Lauren Pingleton, APRN, and Erin Fannin, APRN — and the Garrard Clinic staff are currently seeing patients at North Garrard Family Medical Center. Brandi Browning, APRN, and current staff at North Garrard Family Medical Center will continue to see patients there as well.

Ephraim McDowell Health remains steadfast in its commitment to Garrard County and is actively pursuing opportunities to expand and improve the community's healthcare needs. 💙

The Dazzling Dribblers are back! 🏀

This program has long been a favorite offering during the winter months in Boyle County. It will begin Wednesday, November 12 and continue each Wednesday from 4:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. through February 18, 2026. Click below for registration and pricing details ⬇️

Yesterday's "Tiny Concert" was wonderful! Not only did we have our Southwind Dulcimer Group performing (Victoria Scarborough, Alice Showalter, Mary Fran Melton, Jim Moore, and Lynne Anderson), but flutist Helen Yalch joined in!

This amazing sextet filled the EMRMC Third Street lobby with soothing sounds. Thank you for sharing the gift of music with our patients, visitors, and Associates. Your dedication means so much to those whose load you made feel lighter.

The next "Tiny Concert" featuring Southwind and Helen Yalch will be on November 25 at 1:30 p.m. Christmas music will be featured.

📣Boyle and Garrard County residents, you may be eligible to take part in the RURAL Heart & Lung Study, a major research project funded by the National Institutes of Health!

Their Mobile Exam Unit is currently at Millennium Park in Danville, where participants between the ages of 25–64 can receive a FREE heart and lung health screening. Screenings are available Monday through Saturday, and participants will receive their results to share with their physician. Transportation to and from the appointment is available, and you’ll be compensated for your time!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Sensory Friendly Spooktacular Costume Party & Glow Dance!

With the support of nearly 30 community partners and our amazing volunteers, we were able to welcome 324 registered attendees. From the trick-or-treat tables and glow dance to the sensory and calming rooms, it was a day full of fun, laughter, and connection.

We are so grateful to every attendee, vendor, and volunteer who made this event possible — and we can’t wait to see you all again next year!
