Life with health issues and loving yourself enough to give yourself time to heal to be at your best 70 to 80% of the time.
Some days, we go quiet—and it’s not because we don’t care.
Living with chronic stress, ADHD, and autoimmune challenges means our energy isn’t consistent. It can change hour by hour, day by day. What looks like “pulling away” from the outside is often us doing the work to regulate, recover, and simply function.
There are moments when our minds are racing but our bodies are exhausted. Times when the smallest task feels overwhelming. And days when rest isn’t optional—it’s necessary just to reset.
So when we step back, cancel plans, or get a little quieter…
we’re not disappearing.
We’re recalibrating.
We’re protecting our energy.
We’re finding our way back to baseline.
And when we return, it’s because we’ve done what we needed to do to show up again—fully and genuinely.
If you experience this too, you’re not alone. And if you love someone who does, your patience means more than you know.
