If you find yourself struggling with excess fatigue, low mood, and loss of interest, these may be symptoms of S.A.D. (Seasonal Affective Disorder). Fact: Seasonal Affective Disorder is triggered by reduced daylight, not temperature.
Fact: Vitamin D may help with winter blues, but light therapy is the gold-standard treatment.
Make it a habit this winter to get 15–20 minutes of morning sunlight each day.
No sunshine? Consider light-therapy options.
Hendricks Therapy offers a wearable light-therapy device called the TheraVisor. It comes in several colors, and the cost is only $65 plus tax.

Can Xeomin® Support Emotional Wellness?
Emerging research suggests that Xeomin® (incobotulinumtoxinA), an FDA-approved treatment for several other medical and cosmetic conditions, may have potential benefits beyond its traditional uses. Randomized controlled trials have explored its impact on mood when injected into the glabellar region (commonly known as the “frown lines” between the eyebrows). The randomized controlled trials show that patients receiving Xeomin® injections have a statistically significant improvement in depressive symptoms.
By relaxing specific facial muscles, Xeomin® may help interrupt the neurobiological feedback loop associated with negative emotions, potentially leading to an improvement in mood and emotional wellness of people with depression and anxiety.
1. Facial Feedback Hypothesis
Facial muscles send emotional signals to the brain. Relaxing the frown muscles, procerus and corrugators, may reduce negative feedback loops and help shift mood.
2. Brain Modulation
fMRI studies show Xeomin® reduces amygdala hyperactivity, calming overactive emotional circuits. Imaging and brain activity studies also showed changes in emotion processing regions after glabellar injections, supporting a biological effect beyond appearance.
3. Social Feedback Loop
Softer expressions may encourage more positive social interactions - further boosting emotional well-being.
Clinical studies:
Response rates: Around 40–60% of participants reported mood improvements, compared to lower rates in placebo groups.
Cosmetic onset: Typically seen in 2–10 days.
Mood changes: Often noticed within 3–6 weeks.
Duration: Effects may last for several months and can be maintained with follow-up treatments.
Xeomin® is not currently FDA-approved for treating depression or anxiety. Please consult with a licensed healthcare provider to discuss options and review the Medication Guide for important safety information. Call (317) 718-8436 for additional information. www.hendrickstherapy.com/relief

Downtown Indianapolis, Meet Our Psychiatric Mental Health Team!
Hendricks Therapy is a private mental health practice located in the heart of the Lockerbie area. We believe the most effective path to wellness rests on two essential pillars: clinical expertise and genuine human connection. That’s why our team is structured to give patients truly comprehensive care.
We combine the specialized medical knowledge of the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP) with the deep therapeutic support of Licensed Therapists.
Our approach supports patients:
💊 The PMHNP (Medical)
Our PMHNPs handle the medical side of patient care:
Diagnosis & Assessment: Providing accurate diagnoses and medical evaluations.
Medication Management: Prescribing and carefully managing psychiatric medications to stabilize symptoms.
🛋️ The Therapist (Support & Skill-Building)
Our Therapists handle the emotional and behavioral side:
Psychotherapy: Offering talk therapy to help patients process emotions, explore challenges, and gain new insights.
Coping Skills: Teaching practical, evidence-based tools to manage anxiety, depression, and stress.
The Result: Comprehensive Care that Works!
When patients work with us, their medication (if needed) is professionally managed while they actively build the emotional skills necessary for lasting change.
