Kruger Funeral Home & Crematory Kruger Funeral Home & Crematory, formerly Pape Family Funeral Home has been caring for the loved ones in Vermilion County since 1916.

As of present, long time employee Jennifer Kruger now owns and operates the funeral home. The Funeral Home was ran and operated by 5 generations of the Pape Family. In 2018, long time employee Jennifer Kruger purchased, and continued to run the funeral home. Even though no Pape's are involved with the funeral home today, we will continue the legacy of the funeral home, and continue to serve Danville and the surrounding communities for many years to come.

Susan Earle passed away peacefully on Sun, August 31st at OSF Sacred Heart in Danville. Graveside services will be at Rose Cemetery in Bismarck at 10am on Monday, September 8, 2025. All are welcome to attend.

Did You Know that there is no state or federal requirement that your death be published or announced anywhere? It is not mandatory that your family publish a death notice or obituary, tell your church, your neighbors, or even the mailman!

The only requirements are that social security is notified (which is done automatically by the funeral home when they file the death certificate), that pension or retirement be notified (which can only be done by the next of kin), and that utility companies be notified (it is fraud to keep utilities on in a deceased person's name).

And now you know! Being educated and aware is the most important part of life (besides love, friendship, and good health of course)!

Kathy Ann Stitt, 67 of Danville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 23rd in Peoria, IL at the Richard L Owens Hospice Home. Per her wishes, a Celebration of Life will be at the Tilton Community Center on Fri, August 1st from 4-9pm.

May God wrap his arms around those she loved most dearly and comfort them now and always.
