Today, we share bittersweet news as we announce that Valerie A. White, FNP, will be leaving our practice to answer a powerful calling — serving underserved communities in Alaska. Valerie’s last day in office will be 04/01/2026, we have providers ready to continue her patients care.
For the past 30 years, Valerie has dedicated her life to caring for others, and for much of that time she has been a cornerstone of healthcare in our community. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, she has faithfully served patients from newborns to the elderly in our area since 2000. Her work has included managing acute and chronic illnesses, providing preventive care and screenings, performing minor procedures, and delivering comprehensive management for asthma, COPD, diabetes, and hypertension.
Valerie’s passion for caring for the underserved has always been evident. Early in her career, she provided care to medically underserved children in Washington, D.C. through a mobile clinic. She also previously served in Alaska with the Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation, delivering care in remote villages and training Community Health Aides to provide essential medical services where access was limited.
Her educational background reflects her lifelong commitment to excellence. Valerie earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Howard University as a Family Nurse Practitioner and she has maintained board certification and prescriptive authority in Virginia. Throughout her career, she has not only treated patients but also taught and mentored nursing students, helping shape the next generation of healthcare providers
Valerie’s compassion, clinical expertise, leadership, and unwavering dedication have made an immeasurable impact on our patients and our community. While we are deeply saddened to see her go, we are incredibly proud of her continued commitment to improving access to care for underserved populations.
