“You are not replaceable. Your experience matters. Your judgment matters. Your presence matters…”
During his EMS Week keynote, Dr. Brandon Morshedi spoke from personal experience, not just from his role as a physician.
Before becoming an emergency medicine and EMS physician, Dr. Morshedi spent 12 years serving in public safety and EMS as a firefighter, EMT, and paramedic on an ambulance. He knows the weight of the job, the judgment it takes, and the difference EMS professionals make long before a patient reaches the hospital.
That is what made his message so meaningful.
“…No algorithm, protocol, or piece of technology can replace what EMS clinicians bring to the bedside or the roadside.”
To every emergency medical clinician and EMS professional serving across Arkansas: thank you for showing up on people’s worst days, for carrying the weight that most never see, and for continuing to serve even when the job asks so much of you. Your skills are not replaceable, your experience matters, and your presence changes lives every single day.
To Dr. Morshedi: thank you for all you do, the unimaginable hours of work you put into helping emergency medical care excel across Arkansas and the nation, and for using this moment to remind EMS professionals of the value they bring to every call, every patient, and every community they serve.
