Volunteers of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh Wilton chapter and members of Wilton Hindu Community celebrated with members of Wilton, CT Police Department Wilton CT Fire Department Wilton CERT Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps-WVAC.

State Rep Savet Constantine First Selectman Toni Boucher were present. Certificates by Senator Chris Murphy Representative Jim Himes were presented to FirstResponders.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, let us also reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of their sacrifice.

Wilton Chapter of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS), hosted their annual Teacher’s Appreciation Event, GuruVandana this past weekend at Comstock Community Center in Wilton CT, hosting teachers, educations and coaches from various towns in Fairfield County. 40+ teachers , guests and their families joined the event, as well as esteemed guests including Steve Hudspeth (Chief Guest), Honorable Harry Rilling (Mayor of City of Norwalk, Cantor Harriet Dunkerley (Clergy member - Temple B’nai Chaim) and Pamela Ly (Wilton Board of Education). HSS hosted this successful event to appreciate the teachers who play such a critical role in the success of children and would like to express gratitude to all the teachers, esteemed guests, and attendees for making this a memorable event.

The Wilton Hindu community set up a booth to showcase aspects of Hindu culture. The teenage volunteers of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh explained various aspects. The teenagers also designed a take away brochure for 100 registered high school kids who visited the booths.

Wilton school district superintendent Dr. Kevin Smith and Wilton High School Dr. Robert O’Donnell also visited the booth.
