A big shoutout to the amazing 2026 Club Scrub students for joining us and exploring exciting careers in health care at our new facility! We had such a great time welcoming students from Argyle, Belmont, Benton, Black Hawk, Darlington, and Shullsburg every Tuesday throughout March.

Health care is an incredibly rewarding career path! We hope you’ll pursue your health care dreams, earn that degree, and one day return home to make a difference in the community you love!

Scholarships available!

LHC has two scholarships available:
Cathy Lee Scholarship & The Lafayette Hospital + Clinics Foundation. Both require a one-year post-secondary education in healthcare or nursing. Applications are open until April 31st. More information can be found on the LHC website at: lafayettehospital.org

This week marked our final session with the Club Scrub students, and what a great experience it’s been! Our staff had just as much fun sharing their healthcare careers as the students did learning and getting hands-on experience.

To wrap things up, the Operating Room team gave the students a memorable activity—they practiced making an incision, searched for a few “candy treats,” and even stapled their patient (a stuffed bunny!) back up.

It’s been an incredible five weeks, and we loved inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals!

It’s no joke—this April Fools’ Day marks an exciting milestone!

On April 13, LHC will mark one year in our new healthcare home. To honor this milestone, we invite you to join us on Wednesday, April 15, from 1–2 PM for the unveiling of the LHC Foundation’s Tree of Remembrance.

We warmly welcome all past Foundation members to be part of this meaningful moment as we relocate this cherished symbol of history and dedication. With its new home, the Foundation looks forward to revitalizing the Tree of Remembrance—once again filling it with tributes to honored family members and remembered friends.

Please enjoy light refreshments as we gather with our providers, staff, and community to reflect on what this new facility represents for the future of healthcare to Lafayette County and beyond.

We’re still feeling inspired after Wednesday night’s Women’s Health Event

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible community for showing up, engaging, and spending the evening with us. And to our amazing providers and staff—your passion and dedication to educating and empowering women truly made the night special.

To all the mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends who joined us: times are changing… and it’s not your mama’s menopause anymore. This phase of life is about YOU—your health, your comfort, your quality of life.

You don’t have to live with the symptoms. There are answers, and it starts with advocating for yourself.

Club Scrub successfully completed week four with our 8th grade students. They learned about Laboratory careers and had fun drawing blood (from a mannequin) and had the opportunity to look through a microscope. Our staff has enjoyed sharing the many careers available in health care.

This week, our Club Scrub students participated in a session where they explored the fields of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. They learned about the crucial roles these professionals play in helping patients recover from injuries, manage chronic conditions, and adapt to new physical limitations. They even got to try their hand at some of the exercises and activities, gaining a deeper understanding of the importance of these therapies in promoting overall health and wellness.
