I always tell my clients “No self deprecation allowed in my space. STOP
Neuroscientists from Stanford and Harvard spent years studying the impact of self-talk on brain structure and mental health; finding the language we use with ourselves doesn't just reflect our mood and life…..it actually creates it.
They found the most harmful phrases include "I'm not good enough," "I always fail," "I can't do this," "Nothing ever works out for me," "I'm so stupid," "Everyone else is better than me," and "I'll never change." When you say these phrases, your brain releases cortisol and activates the amygdala, which is your fear center. Repeating these over time, strengthens neural pathways associated with negativity; pessimistic thinking becomes your default mode. Brain scans depict that people who regularly engage in negative self-talk have more activity in stress regions and less activity in problem-solving areas.
Neuroplasticity is your brain's ability to form new connections. Dr. Ethan Kross from the University of Michigan found that people who practiced positive self-talk for just three weeks experienced quantifiable changes in brain activity, and increased activation in regions linked to self-control and emotional regulation.
So…..replace the negative statements with I' "I'm improving every day," change "I learn from every experience," and “I'll find a way to figure this out."
Practice this daily!! —-positive self-talk builds stronger, healthier neural pathways. Notice negative phrases, then consciously replace them with empowering alternatives. Your brain will thank you.
Energetically, you want to align with the higher vibrations of the Universe!!!
I am worthy. I am loved. I am open to receive!
