Tick Bites: What You Need to Know & When to Seek Care

Tick bites are more than just a nuisance – they can carry serious infections like Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. It’s important to know the signs and when to get professional care.

What to do if you find a tick:
✅ Remove the tick promptly with fine-tipped tweezers, pulling straight out.
✅ Clean the bite area with soap and water.
✅ Watch for symptoms: rash, fever, fatigue, or joint pain.

When to visit Amana Care Clinic:

If the tick is embedded and you need help removing it safely.

If part of the tick remains in the skin after removal.

If you develop symptoms of infection (redness, swelling, drainage, or flu-like symptoms).

Strike Night with Amana Care Clinic! 🎳

Last week, our amazing team traded stethoscopes for strikes and had an un-bowl-ievably good time at our staff bowling night!

From gutter balls to turkey streaks, the lanes were full of laughter, team spirit, and a whole lot of friendly competition. We work hard, but we play just as hard—and spending quality time together outside the clinic reminds us how lucky we are to have such a fun, supportive work family 💙

🩺 Rashes: When Should You See a Medical Provider?
At Amana Care Clinic, we know skin rashes can be uncomfortable, confusing, and sometimes even alarming. While many rashes are harmless and resolve on their own, others may need medical attention.

Watch for These Warning Signs:
🔹 Rash is spreading rapidly or not improving after a few days
🔹 Accompanied by fever, pain, or swelling
🔹 Blisters or open sores develop
🔹 Appears suddenly and covers a large area
🔹 Signs of infection (oozing, crusting, warmth, redness)
🔹 Involves the eyes or mouth
🔹 Happens after starting a new medication or eating something unusual
🔹 You have a known condition (like eczema or psoriasis) that suddenly worsens

💡 Remember: Rashes can be caused by infections, allergic reactions, heat, or chronic skin conditions. It's not always possible to tell what's causing it without a medical exam.
