Colorectal cancer screening can help detect problems early, often before symptoms appear. Early detection can make treatment more effective and can even prevent cancer by identifying and removing precancerous polyps.

There are several screening options available, including stool-based tests, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and CT scans. Talk with your healthcare provider about which option may be right for you.

Screening is recommended starting at age 45 for most adults.

Taking a proactive step today could protect your health tomorrow.

Mental Health touches ALL of us, with very few exceptions.
As we experience life with all of its troubles and trials, we will feel some level of anxiety or depression or know of someone who has struggled with these issues. Husbands, wives, children, family members, friends, co-workers, acquaintances: no one is immune. Although, as a society, we have made strides with reducing the stigma, it still exists. Our goal with future posts will be to educate, enlighten and increase awareness of issues related to mental health that continue to be problematic in our own lives, in our community and the world at large.

Colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable forms of cancer when caught early.

Understanding your risk factors can help you take steps to protect your health. Age, family history, lifestyle habits, and certain medical conditions can all play a role in colorectal cancer risk.

The good news: screening can detect problems early, often before symptoms even begin.

Most adults should begin screening at age 45.

Talk with your provider about what screening option is right for you.

March is Brain Injury Awareness Month, a time to recognize the many ways the brain can be affected and the lasting impact it can have on individuals and families.

Brain injuries can occur from traumatic events such as falls, vehicle accidents, or sports injuries. They can also develop from non-traumatic causes, including strokes, infections, lack of oxygen, tumors, or exposure to toxins.

Because symptoms can vary and may not always appear right away, awareness and early medical care are important for protecting brain health and improving recovery outcomes.

Learning the signs and understanding the different causes of brain injury helps our community stay informed and better prepared.

Your body often gives small signals when something isn’t right.

Changes in bowel habits, unexplained abdominal discomfort, or blood in the stool can sometimes be early signs of colorectal cancer. While many digestive issues are caused by less serious conditions, persistent symptoms should never be ignored.

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, a reminder that understanding the signs and staying up to date on screenings can make a life-saving difference.

If something feels off, talk with your healthcare provider.

Early detection saves lives.
