Family Resources is a nonprofit founded in 1849 with a mission to support successful lives to build strong communities. Family Resources offers services in 11 counties in eastern Iowa and western Illinois including counseling and therapy, behavioral health intervention services, child welfare emergency services and Iowa Aftercare services. Comprehensive services are also available to survivors of domestic abuse, sexual abuse, human trafficking, homicide and other violent crimes.

It is a month-long effort to inform, influence, and impact how society views and responds to homicide victims, their families, and first responders.

SHAM provides an opportunity to raise public awareness about the profound effects of murder on families and communities while uplifting the peace-building efforts of survivors.

🎬You have a chance to see a screening next week at Augustana College - Illinois that explores a very important topic: harmful notions of masculinity in mainstream American culture and how it can impact boys and men.
💙The Mask You Live In is a 2015 documentary film written, directed, and produced by Jennifer Siebel Newsom. In an interview she said, "It was really important to me that I could nurture a son who could be true to his authentic self, who wouldn't always feel like he had to prove his masculinity."
