The cemetery contains over 18600 burials including prominent city officials and businessmen.

DELAYED due to snow will do clean up 19th and 20th.

Spring clean up time. ALL ITEMS must be removed from gravesites before March 15. Anything left will be taken beginning Monday March 16.

It is our annual spring clean up week.

Our Story

The cemetery contains over 18600 burials including prominent city officials and businessmen. The crematory was established in 1890, and was the first crematory in the State of Iowa and only the second one West of the Mississippi river. Today it is one of the 9th oldest crematories still in operation in Iowa.
