Today I did something a little different. Normally, when I’m working with rose hips, I infuse them into a carrier oil for skincare. Today, though, I decided to slow down and make a cup of rose hip tea instead. Sometimes it’s nice to enjoy the plants we work with in a new way.

Rose hip tea is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants and is traditionally enjoyed to support immune health, joint comfort, and overall wellness. It has a bright, slightly tart flavor that feels especially grounding during busy days.

On a completely different note, I also successfully replaced my EVAP purge valve in my car with a little help from YouTube. Not exactly herbalism, but still incredibly satisfying.

Knowledge really is power, friends. Whether it’s learning something new about plants or fixing something with your own hands, keep learning and growing every day!

Roses aren't just for romance. The petals are a reminder that softness is not weakness. Rose is used to support emotional steadiness, ease overwhelm, and help the heart stay open during times of stress or grief.
Reach for rose in winter, when the nervous system needs gentleness more than stimulation.
Sometimes the most supportive thing we can do is to be still.

After the holidays, I reach less for herbs that “boost” and more for herbs that hold.
Hold the nervous system. Hold depleted reserves. Hold emotional steadiness.
Rose petals, oat straw, skullcap, and astragalus root are some of my go‑to winter allies for exactly this reason. They don’t rush the body. They support it gently, over time.
Sometimes that’s exactly what healing looks like.

This month is about slow grounding, subtle warmth, and setting intentions through scent and daily practice—one herb at a time. A quiet reset for January, even when the moments fly by.
