Today, a group of our clinicians gathered in the Quad City Psychotherapy conference room to create vision boards for 2026.

Vision boards aren’t about “manifesting” in a magical sense — they’re about clarifying values, goals, and direction. When we externalize our intentions visually, we engage multiple parts of the brain: attention, emotion, and motivation. This makes our goals more salient, more memorable, and easier to act on over time.

In a field where we spend so much energy holding space for others, it felt meaningful to pause and ask ourselves:
What do we want to be growing toward?
What kind of clinicians, colleagues, and humans do we want to be?

Grateful for a team that values reflection, creativity, and intentional growth — for ourselves and for the people we serve. 💛

It is Su***de Prevention Month, and we have scheduled some training for health providers and social service professionals to provide insight and strategies for engaging in conversations with individuals regarding restricting access to the means they might use to take their own lives. CALM (Counseling on Access to Lethal Means) Training, presented by UnityPoint Health - Quad Cities Muscatine and QC Community Veterans Engagement Board, will be provided by Iowa City VA Health Care System Su***de Prevention team members Deb Moeller and Peggy Dickey. Join me this Sunday for Rooted & Resilient: A Sound Healing Experience at Quad City Psychotherapy, PLLC!

This event is especially meaningful to me. I’ve been a client here for quite some time, and the growth I’ve experienced in this space has been life-changing. It’s where I learned to cope with grief after losing my sister-in-law. It’s where I discovered how much I had been people-pleasing. And it’s also where I faced the burnout I carried from years in healthcare and realized my soul was ready for something new.

In many ways, this is one of the places where Uplifted Energies was born.

I would be so honored to share this sound bath with you in a space that has held so much of my own healing.

Our next DBT group starts July 23, 2025. DBT is an excellent intervention for learning how to understand and manage intense emotions. Participants in the last round of group reported an increase in their ability to cope, handle distress, and practice mindfulness. Please share this information with anyone you think might be interested in group.

DBT skills training is a weekly group that teaches individuals skills and techniques to better regulate intense emotions.
