I would like to officially introduce myself to you as the Lead Psychotherapist and Founder of Visions of Hope Mental Health Services, LLC. My name is Nadia Baker and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida and a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of New York.
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of mental health settings such as transitional care, assisted living, community centers, treatment programs, and inpatient and outpatient mental health facilities. Since starting my career in the Human Service field back in 1998, I worked with a diverse client population. At that time, I was able to identify my true passion of servicing adults who are trying to find their way through mastering life, while living with a mental health diagnosis. Within my work experience, I have collaborated with community agencies and families within various sectors in order to build healthy connections to a large range of resources for the clients and the providers that I assist.
In addition to my mental health educational background, I enjoy incorporating the education I have obtained from my Religious Studies degree into my therapeutic processes whenever a client is interested in doing so.
I currently practice a variety of modalities including Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) when working with individuals living with depression, anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, personality disorders, schizophrenia, and other behavioral issues. I also have experience working with children within the foster care system and have worked with young girls in the Girl Circle program which is an evidence-based program designed to meet the unique challenges of pre-teens. Lastly, but my most rewarding endeavor, is providing education around mental health stigmas and the importance of mental health as it pertains to spiritual health and minority communities.
On a personal level, I am a proud mom of 5 amazing children and want nothing but to teach them empathy and understanding about individuals that I work so hard to positively represent and protect.
