We are so excited to welcome our newest Associate to our team at Cornerstone Family Dentistry - Dr. Teja Gummadi! Dr. Teja has been with us for just a few months now and he has been the biggest asset to the team - always willing to step in and help however he can, and always entering the room with a smile to help patients feel relaxed. Let's get to know him a little better!
What made you want to work in dentistry?
I've always been drawn to healthcare growing up, but it was after shadowing several dentists that I truly saw myself in the field. What inspired me most was the combination of hands-on-work, never-ending learning and growth, and the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients and my coworkers.
What's your favorite part about helping patients?
I enjoy the process of developing genuine relationships with patients—whether it’s helping them gain confidence in their smile, reinforcing good oral health, or just getting to know them and sharing a laugh along the way.
Tell us about your family/pets/where you're from?
I grew up near Austin, Texas, with my parents and my older brother. We're a close-knit family and their support and encouragement has shaped who I am today.
If you weren't working in dentistry, what would you be doing?
I probably would be a software engineer. I used to study programming, and I enjoy how it challenges me to pay attention to detail, think logically, and problem solve.

Who inspires you the most in life (inside or outside of dentistry)?
My brother. He’s nine years older than me and has always been a role model and mentor in my life, even now.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I’ve gotten is not to be afraid of failure. It’s easy to be hard on yourself, but mistakes are how you grow
