A Message From Our President/CEO
After careful consideration and in response to ongoing funding shortfalls, CASI will be closing Jane’s Place Adult Day Services and its community-based senior advocacy program. The organization will refocus its efforts on member-based activity programs to better serve the needs of the senior community.
Jane’s Place Adult Day Services, which has been part of CASI’s service offerings for more than 35 years, provides a safe, positive, and home-like environment for adults who require daytime supervision due to physical, social, or cognitive impairments. As the only licensed Adult Day Service in Eastern Iowa, Jane’s Place has played a crucial role in supporting caregivers and enhancing the quality of life for many seniors.
The community-based senior advocacy program has been instrumental in connecting older adults and their families with local, state, and federal benefits and programs, enabling them to maintain their independence and remain in their homes and communities as long as possible.
“As funding priorities continue to shift, we recognize the need to adapt our services to more effectively and efficiently meet the evolving needs of our community,” said Laura Kopp, President and CEO of CASI. “While it is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Jane’s Place and our advocacy program, we are excited about the opportunity to enhance our member-based activity programs, which will continue to promote independence and enrich the lives of older adults through socialization, health, and wellness.”
CASI remains committed to serving our senior community with compassion and excellence. Our staff will be working closely with the families of Jane’s Place participants and clients in the advocacy program to ensure a smooth transition.
