To my beloved patients and families:

I am writing to let you all know that I am officially retiring today: February 3, 2025. I am very excited to enter this new phase of life and look forward to the new experiences that retirement will bring!

I am proud of having transformed our office from an abandoned building, to a comfortable refuge for people of the QC to receive care with minimal fuss and wait. For the past eight years, it has truly been the privilege of my life to have been allowed into your families as your care provider. You have shared your achievements and your deep struggles with me, and this is such a gift. We have worked together through illness and health, family problems, mental health concerns, injuries, as well as many achievements and proud moments. I have been so impressed and encouraged by the goodwill, big hearts, and kindness demonstrated by both old and young, families, friends, neighbors and community.

A new generation brings new ideas and vigor, and I am proud to announce that Nurse Practitioner Amanda Disch, a long-time QC resident, will be taking over the Practice! She will bring energy and new ideas to the Village and looks forward to meeting all of you! Amanda has met some of you already, as she has been working at the office intermittently over the past two years. She looks forward to getting to know everyone and meeting those she has not yet met, and I am confident that you are going to love her!

Amanda will continue the work we have started and follow-up with all of your care needs. As the Practice has grown so much and we are now open more than weekends, the clinic will become “the Village Clinic.”

I thank every one of you from the bottom of my heart for all you have taught me. I will remember you all very fondly.

Please note that our phone number has changed, it is: 563-286-0743
You can still make your own appointment on-line, Amanda can't wait to meet you!

Having trouble sleeping?
Try to establish a routine: Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, including on weekends.
You can also start winding down at a set time each evening with a relaxing activity like reading, taking a bath, or meditating. No TV or Phone!
Make your environment restful, keep your bedroom cool, dark, and quiet. No electronics within an hour of bedtime.
Be mindful of what you eat and drink, no large large meals or going to bed hungry within a couple of hours of bedtime, limit caffeine, ni****ne, and alcohol in the evening, as their stimulating effects can take hours to wear off.
Get enough exercise, and choose a comfortable sleeping position: Side sleeping can help prevent snoring and keep your airway from collapsing. You can also try slightly elevating your head if that's comfortable.
